The TA has the best balance of track worthiness and street friendiness without being overbearing (big wing, really low ride height, etc.), and IMO there should have been just 2 versions of the Gen V Vipers at launch - the TA and SRT.
Took the car for a ride to get to know her better, and...
I meant for the SRT, TA, and GTS models, where can I find:
1. spring rates - F&R
2. sway bar sizes
3. downforce vs. speed graph
4. lateral acceleration from the factory
5. stopping distance from the factory
6. 0 - 60 time (Porsche always provide it, but does SRT do that too?)
etc.
etc.
Hey Mike,
The Toyos are going to replace the Corsas when they wear out, and they will wear out in no time, and be used mostly for the street. I also have a set of Hoosier A6's on OZ wheels that I used to use on the ACR. BTW many T1 guys run A6 instead of R6 on road course as they find A6's...
Dan, your point is well taken, and I agree with you 100%, but these R888's I am referring to would be for my street use when the Corsas wear out, they are probably going to 1/2 to 2/3 the price of replacement Corsas, and they would fill the wheel well better than the stock 295's. For track and...
My Chinese New Year prediction is that the TA will win this year's Lightning Lap and sold out within days of the article. Value will double, but none of the TA owners will sell even at $200K+, then value will top $300K.:lmao:
To me, it was the 2000 GTSR Concept that took my breath away, I had a poster of this car on my wall for many many years until I moved out of the house and the poster got damaged. Not a production model though.
I've read about the R888's being available in 345/30-19's for quite a while but after months of waiting, I still don't see them being offered for us so I wrote Toyo and here's what I got back from them:
Thank you for contacting Toyo Tires USA. Toyo Tires is now producing the Proxes R888 in...
Hi Mike, One of best parts of new car ownership for me is to figure out how to mod the car, so I'm now looking at various things that I can or should do to the car. BTW just got great news from Toyo that they are now producing the 345/30-19 R888 tires and they will be available for sale soon...
It turned out "Passive Entry" was unchecked, checked it and now doors will unlock automatically. But what about locking the car, there's no button anywhere on the outside of the car to press to lock the car, is there?
I went through 2 sets of Corsa tires on my '04 Porsche GT3, both sets lasted about 5K miles. One rear tire delaminated at 75MPH, got my rear fender all scratched up, not a fun experience. So watch out for these tires, they wear much faster than expected, especially the inner shoulder at -2.xx...
Hi Jay,
Still thinking about Palm Sprints, 2 hours to and 2 hours back is a long distance to drive for a few runs of autox. Especially if I put on those A6's, yeah I have 335/345 on 18" OZ's that will fit just fine on the TA. hehehe Just not sure if I want to drive those A6's for 4 hrs. on the...
Hi Venom,
When you say $14, do you mean just the scrub plates? Or the entire lower splitter? One solution for me is maybe to take mine it off for the street and buy a set of non CF ones from the aero kit and use them instead of the CF one if I were to go to high speed tracks or do standing...
As the lower front spoilers, lets call them mustache, already scraps more than my lowered Gen 4 ACR on Motons, lowering it more to reduce the fender gap would make the car scrape everywhere. But lowering it I must, so I'm now thinking of taking those mustache off. Has anyone looked at how they...
OK guys this is by no means a review of the TA, but rather a first impression of the car as compared to a Gen 4. I got the car 2 days ago, so with only 150 miles on the car so far, here's what I like and dislike about the car...

I liked the C7Z a lot when I first saw the leaked photos, but then I still like the lines of the Gen V better. GM has put a lot of good engineering into the car, no question about it. But I still think there might be heatsoak issues with the new FI engine. And I still can't get over the look...
I removed 100 private messages 2 days ago and my CP shows only 50 messages in my inbox, but still not getting messages. There may be something to do with the web site having my information cached. But you could email me at [email protected]

Hi Mark,
Regarding the GTS, how does it ride as compared to the ones you've done with MCS shocks? BTW I see you guys have a few TA's in stock and will be in contact with Bill to see if we can work out a deal. Thanks.
I've been looking at the TA as a replacement for my ACR and plan to put a lot more street miles on the TA, and wonder if you guys can chime in as to how the TA rides with the new shock settings vs. the SRT and GTS, but especially how it compares to the Gen 4 ACR, or better yet the Gen 4 ACR with...
