I could be wrong, but I believe the Paxton still puts down additional power below 4,000 rpm and I know the heads/cam packages from Greg Good and Viper Specialty definitely put down more power in the lower rpms too. Speaking from experience, there's no lack of low end power from these heads/cam...
The cost for all the parts in the build is comparable to purchasing a Paxton kit. Installation in either case will be additional cost. As 345 said, count on a few extra thousand for install and dyno-tuning.
I'm not one for flashy colors and never would I have considered a Viper in anything but B/W, B/S or black.... until I saw SSG in person. Couldn't take my eyes off it.
I say go SSG... and if you don't care for it after a year or so of ownership, slap some dolphins on the hood to dress it up.
Not a lot of issues inherent with the Gen III. Occasional window regulator and clogged cat is all that comes to mind. If it's an '04, check the crank bolt to make sure it's not coming loose. As others have said, do your homework, get a Carfax with service history, etc.
Thanks. Unfortunately it's not in the cards for me. I fell off a ladder working on my deck. Three fractures and five screws later, I should make a full recovery, but I'm not expecting to be very mobile until October.
Hope you guys have a good time. Be sure to post up pics!
My buddy completed a build on his Mustang Cobra recently, switching to an E85 setup for what I understand to be a benefit in cooling properties (he's running a forced induction system) and higher octane. I'm not entirely familiar with the properties of E85, but I do know his application...
Sadly, I will not be able to attend my first VOI. A broken right ankle has relegated me to a spot on the couch as my Viper sits idle and VOI 12 approaches. This sucks, I was really looking forward to spending some quality time with Stryker, picking up a few goodies from our supporting vendors...
Man, I'm sorry to hear this Ryan. Your coupe was one of the best looking rides out there. Really liked your previous black vert too. Good luck with your next ride, I'm sure it will be epic.

Partsrack sells one with a larger rear window and what appears to be side windows. It's not for me, but if increased visibility with a hardtop is the goal, that might help. The Mach 7 top is the best looking one out there IMO.
Gotta say the silver with black wheels looked great to begin with, but this is definitely the draw of a wrap IMO - instant color change with the option to change back when you want. Looks great, very clean. Can I ask, for those potentially considering wraps...
1) Is the matte finish difficult...
Last outing I had with the Ohio VCA, there was a Toxic Orange coupe with black stripes. Never would I have thought about owning an orange or green car, but I couldn't take my eyes off it, nor the SSG coupe. They look amazing in person.
I recently priced out vinyl stripes for my '04 vert from a shop that's done a lot of stripe and wrap work. Was quoted $600 which seemed very reasonable given the attention and labor he described.
