The new ACR is turning out to be a real Champion at the tracks around the USA.
It is setting new track records every where it goes, and dominating even the previous Generations of ACR.
Having the new car be so successful only enhances the value of all those who have gone before.
Granger. Understand you renewed your VCA membership, but why now trying to stir up trouble and opening old wounds? The club has corrected itself and is moving forward.
I see that many old members that were transfered over to the other club have now seen how it is actually being run, and have...
Here is the explaination of why it was done, and how it was accomplished.

Pride...Pure Pride>
A year or so I put 2 additional strakes on my 09 (to make a total of 6). Thought it added just that extra touch to the rear end. Just bolted in one on each side of the stock setup.
Made more of a difference than I would have thought. Few even noticed it, but it made the rear end look even more...
I bought a Viper with high miles. Due to the miles he had no offers as everybody was squabbling over the low mileage ones.
I drove it for 5 years and sold it, with even higher miles on it, for only $1,000 less than I paid for it. If I had bought one of the highly sought after low mileage ones...
Nobody EVER takes their Viper into Unitrax if their rear end is fine.
They are a rear end repair shop. As good as any in the business. Very ethical.
When I took mine in, it was for a ratio change. They showed me the condition of my parts, and offered options for me to choose from for the...
Another way to look at this news is that the Viper is guaranteed to be produced for at least 2 more years.
After that time production at Conner Ave plant will be discontinued.
I am sure they will be looking at all their options to continue the brand up till that facility is closed.
The...
If I know those Viper engineers, I would bet that more than one of them are working on ideas to extend or re invent the V-10 and allow the Viper program to continue.
Last time, when the Viper was over an done with, Ralph took up the quest to re design the car and sold it to Sergio. Without him...
ACR will come with pretty firm shocks, springs and tires. While the suspension is adjustable, it still will provide a pretty aggressive package. Set at full soft, it should be pretty street friendly.
Lots of owners drive previous ACR models on the street all the time.
If you get the car, and...
My personal belief on these visors is that Dodge was trying to use them as some sort of crash protection in case an unbelted driver or passenger might hit their head on the windshield cross bar.
No matter, they do not work well for blocking the sun and still allow driver to see out. They also...
I purchased a set of those several years ago for my Gen IV. They were very effective and reasonably priced.
Installed using the existing fasteners on the fenders.
Are your protectors a copy of those?
Has the original guy stopped making them?
Like the way the magazine has developed. Each article seems to be coming from a different direction. Like it is being written by the membership instead of just an editor.
Lots of good stuff.
Some years had dual cats. A few SoCal guys took out the secondary car, and noticed a bit louder and cooler exhausts.
At first they would easily pass smog, but after some miles on them they would no longer pass the sniffer test.
Could be an option for you.
Now the product of choice seems to be...
Lots of people like the Medusa, but will not pay the higher price it commands.
Do not think it would cost Dodge much more to make the coupe into a vert. Pretty straight forward using components from the Gen IV.
Some potential customers are put off by the magazines that always say the Vipers...
If no major issues, perhaps $35,000 would be the perfect meeting point. Maybe both buyer and seller would feel just a little pain....but quickly get over it.
With the current low fuel prices, you could drive for years with little loss.
Buy the car!
Batboy has a good checklist, except about the painted stripes. Factory stripe edges should feel smooth, with only a slight bump on the painted area. The factory clear coats over the painted stripes.
Any Viper experienced mechanic should be able to do a pre-sale inspection for you.
As to body...
There will aways be wars...and rumors of wars.
From all the action I see at Conner, there is no quit in those people.
Lots of energy being put into the car, and no sign of them slacking.
The new ACR portends to be a track monster. The TA 2.0 seems to be getting a lot of interest.
Viper now...
Unless your low miles 96 is the classic, and desirable Blue/White, might as well go the the later model.
ABS is a usefull option. Loved my 96, but the brakes were much better on later models.
