While it does look more aggressive without the vent grills, removing them is not a good idea for two reasons:
1. The vents keep out larger debris that can occur during driving;and,
2. When parked, someone who wishes to quickly remove a souvenir or just try to trash your engine in some fashion...
Hi Paul. The ME4/12 never reached the point of being a streetable car. The car you rode in used high octane race gas. It may have even been aviation fuel. If I remember correctly, a Chrysler engineer told me it was either 108 or 116 octane to achieve the power level. But, with that said, with...

"As for talk of some kind of euro-viper with a mid-engine V8 - sorry, that's a totally different car. It may be great and all but it's not a viper. If it was sold as a viper, I'm 99% sure I wouldn't buy it...and I'm skeptical of anyone who says they would. If they try to sell it...
Call JonB at PartsRack and see if he can locate an OEM one for you. When I had my former Gen III, I was one of the early change over people and the OEM swap out worked perfectly.
They did for the Gen V ( seats - same shell as Ferraris, carbon fiber and foamed aircraft aluminum panel tech and some manufacturing procedures) and they will undoubtedly share even more for the Gen VI if one is ever authorized. The mid/rear engine frame, etc. tech is available. I would guess...
I do not believe that the pricing would be that high. The engine, tranny, diff and brakes already exist. More like in the 115 to 125K range. The Chally Hellcat is under 70K. The new Hellcat Jeep will be in the low 80s or so since the SRT 392 variant is in the low 70s. So the 115 to 125K range...
I was a hard core manual tranny guy until experiencing the eight speed auto in my Hellcat. Yes. The manual in my TA is fun and engaging. But a Viper with a mid engine Hellcat engine and an eight speed paddle shifting capable tranny weighing 3300 lbs or less would be a monster. The intercooler...
I don't mean to be cruel but he makes references to Elton John, ping pong, shaking for fifteen minutes after he screwed up while driving ( I assume the Depends worked since he does not reference any wetness), a girl friend who burned herself on the side bolster ( next time how about warning her...
I had a Paxtonized 06 coupe. I had the suspension and drivetrain modified specifically for road racing. Dan Cragin provided me with a custom tune that solved a couple of problems that arose when I first used it on a road course. It performed very well in 20 - 25 minute segments. Beyond that...
I think that you and I have different views on testing, reliability and durability. Testing involves more than a couple of dyno runs and anecdotal feed back from a few people. As for Arrow, the package that was going to be available by this year was not at the 8 to 9 pound level. It was/is, if...
The limitation regarding about 100 extra HP of wiggle room before reliability and durability start to decrease is accurate. Per Dick Winkles public comments when he was still with Chrysler, the engine was built with the idea that some Viper owners would utilize boost applications. But they were...
My post is referring to a first gear launch. As for testing, the OEMs test extensively and the drivetrain safety buffer is 100 HP or so above stock. Beyond that the probability of failure increases as power increases.
It should also be noted that a half shaft failure can, under certain...
You might want to see if they make the size in Mickey Thompson Street E.T.s But, if you are running stock half shafts, be ready for one to break at your power level if you do hook. Also, if you choose to install more robust half shafts, and you have a stock drive shaft and differential, you may...
Thank you for your post Ed. Can you please contact the Florida owner you refer to and get him or her to post about the car? It would be appreciated. Also, would your answers all be the same for a centrifugal supercharger set up? A twin screw set up? I would assume some significant differences -...
I could not find anything on his site that indicates that he is doing any Gen V Viper systems. They are not even in the "underdevelopment" section. I think he makes his $ with Lambos, Ford GTs and Audi R8s. He used to do earlier Gen Vipers.
