Nobody has boosted a stock engine yet. The pistons are forged material, but not a design intended for high boost. I believe they are ACR-X pistons, and do not have the thick top ring land like a boosted piston would have. Seeing that the inferior Gen 3 internals handle 700 rwhp no prob, I...
Dan Cragin nailed it. I'd never consider drilled rotors as any sort of "upgrade". If anything, they are a downgrade from OEM rotors. Brakes need to perform, not just look pretty. Go with slotted 2-piece rotors if you want to gain performance, lose weight, and improve appearance.

Challenger isn't going to appeal to those cross-shopping Vipers and Corvettes. I've never cared for the obese Challenger, personally. Even if it were faster.
Even NA cars (especially those making large hp numbers NA) suffer heat soak. I think this phrase gets tossed around too often, without people fully understanding it. I've had a few supercharged cars, including a C6Z06. Yes, it would perform slightly slower when fully hot, but once it reached...
Re: Does Viper have built-in roll bar/roll over protection suitable for 6 pt harness
I keep a 5-point harness in my '06 coupe, and the factory seat belt. The harness is easily stored behind the seat, when not in use. Just push it back through the shoulder holes and leave everything behind...
Says the guy that bought a new Porsche 911 Turbo S, which typically lose about $50,000-60,000 in less than 2 years. I guess that makes you the expert in depreciation :)
Re: Does Viper have built-in roll bar/roll over protection suitable for 6 pt harness
Here is what the factory rollbar looks like in a Gen 3/4 car. I'd assume the Gen 5 has something similar. You cannot see it, it is buried inside the headliner. The rear hatch actually attaches to it...
I wouldn't recommend race tires until you've had at least 5-6 track weekends under your belt. Street performance radials will last much longer, and teach you better car control. If you go out on race tires and don't know how to run the lines smoothly, you'll just wear them out very quickly and...
The 12C interior looks good, but not any better or worse than the new Viper. Even the steering wheels look similar. Same amount of leather covered surfaces and plastic.
Even the base seats on the 12C are cloth.
The Viper can also be ordered with the Laguna interior and all the carbon...
I still have my Paxton '06 coupe also. If your car is still on a stock engine, the Gen 5 (and Gen 4) are likely quicker. Especially if you do any 1/2-mile or standing mile events. When I ran my stock engine w/ Paxton at the standing mile, there were two stock '08 Vipers that ran faster than...
This SRT is a little more than a TA, but it has every single piece of available carbon, leather interior, and upgraded stereo. Might be worth checking out.

I had to pull on it extremely hard just to get it to un-stick after having just sat the spoiler on the hatch barely. I almost couldn't get it off again. Now that it is fully pressed down, I don't see it coming off ever. The entire underside is covered in that tape, pretty decent sized foot...
While I can appreciate the musclecar era Mopars, and actually know quite a bit about them, I don't consider myself a Mopar guy. I've always been a GM guy, still am. I do like Dodge trucks and Vipers though. As for the classics, I love the 'Cudas.
I had the car up to 110 mph yesterday, and the hatch now has a slight humming sound. Something is going on back there with this spoiler, for sure. It would be cool to have someone that laps their Viper a lot do some laps without a wing, then put on the wing while at the track, see any...
Wayne, thank you for making these available! Many of us had given up on Mopar parts, and their inflated pricing. My car looks perfect now, and should work well at the road course as a bonus.
I paid MSRP and still have no regrets. I wouldn't necessarily go bargain shopping on a $100K+ vehicle. Some of the lower priced cars are the demo cars that magazines and dealerships had. The GTS cars have lost most of their value, due to the expensive options they came with. SRT cars are...
These are not molded from OEM pieces, there are subtle differences. Besides, I've never heard of a patent on replacement body panels or exterior spoilers and wings. Think of the aftermarket hoods, hatches, even wheel knock-offs out there.
If you've been to Paris, you would be amazed at how their dealerships are so much different than ours. In a good way. Especially those found on the Champs Elysees road. They look more like futuristic night clubs with some nice cars on display in spotlights, some even had bars and coffee shops...
Sony NEX-5N with 18-55 lens and polarizer for these pics. I've primarily used Canon DSLR's in the past, but this little camera is pretty amazing and easier to carry. DSLR is better in low light conditions, which I rarely shoot.
I went out this AM and shot some photos of my '13 SRT with the new carbon fiber aero package from Xtreme. We will be selling these spoilers and splitters through our store. Fitment was great, and the spoiler and splitters are available separately ($2000 spoiler, $1000 splitters). They are...
Good to know they did the numbering by color. This tells me that they won't stop building the TA models, they will just change the colors on them. Had they used a set final value of all colors combined, then we'd know the TA was done after the three colors were made.
Yes Bruce, the SRT dash plaque on the passenger side has the 00/000 number. I'm not certain if they count that number as all TA's built, or if it is broken down further by color. Bob, what does yours say?
