People still by Lambos and Ferraris, when most of them don't have any dealership network in the same state, much less city. It seems you give up too easily, or just aren't that interested in a Gen 5. Either way, it is your decision. Personally, I wouldn't let a town dealership dictate my...
Has your dealer actually said they won't service them? This does not sound correct, as any Chrysler dealership can perform warranty work. The 5 isn't much different than the 4, beneath the fancy skin.
As for the complainers and trolls on the VCA, they have all but ruined the Gen 5 forum for...
Agreed. I've owned two C6's myself. Base Z51 when they first came out, and later a Z06. I modified both to run in the 10s.
The base C7 is only popular now, because it is the newest thing. Just like when I had the first C6 around. It got a lot of attention, good magazine reviews, etc...
To each their own. I still own my Gen 3. I didn't buy a Gen 4 because it is the identical car I already had, with some more horsepower under the hood. Many felt the Gen 4 should have just been considered a mid-model refresh and remained a Gen 3. I bought the Gen 5 because it was a completely...
It would be a lot easier to push the case vs the bean counters, if sales were better. They could just make the GT3-R into a street legal version, but it would likely cost more than the current GT3-R does. Then people would just complain about price again.
BTW, regarding shocks, the Gen 3/4...
ACR-X ran the 'Ring in 7:03, over 2 yrs ago. Without nannies, with a manual trans. From a car that COULD be purchased from Dodge. This Nismo GT-R is just a Nissan test car, not a production vehicle.
Track Pack is just an option, those red cars weren't a special edition. I'm betting the non-red SRT cars built is very few, especially those with Track Pack.
Yes, but those parts add up to $22K over the base price of the bare bones 2013 SRT, at $98K MSRP. People are already complaining about the price, this would have been worse. Personally, I think having two different (now three) models is silly. They should all start out as Vipers, and allow...
If you want an orange car, you only have one option - unless you custom paint another car. Had I known about the orange TA, I'd have ordered that one instead of my white SRT. I'm a sucker for orange cars, have owned many. I'd have paid $10K more than I did for mine to get one, also - but...
You do realize that there isn't much difference between a TA and the SRT, right? Aero mods, adjustable shocks, and larger front calipers. All can be upgraded on any Gen 5. I have no complaints with my track pack brakes, but I would like the aero mods.
I agree with that statement. I felt exactly the same in 2008, when they unveiled the Gen 4. Many of us already had modded Gen 3 coupes that were faster than a stock Gen 4, and had no reason to upgrade. Especially when the chassis, body, and interior were identical. Couple that with the fact...
They are pretty awful on the street. Pilot Super Sport is a better all-around tire. Sport Cups are only good on the road course, after a lap to heat them up.
Hmmm, considering that I actually pay to be a member and use this forum, and you do not, maybe it is you that should take a hike?
Read up on my posts about Gen 5 cars, and you'll see that I have been one of the most vocal and critical about the lack of marketing, lack of parts availability...
Wade,
I didn't mention any lap times. You did. I said we should run them and compare times. TWS is my favorite track in TX, I'll go run there when I get a chance. And for the record, I don't have anything against Shooter or ACR's. Each of us likes our cars. I'd still consider buying an...
See response #7 above. You made my point, perfectly. How about sticking to complaining about things that SRT is directly responsible for, instead of complaining about articles that they didn't even participate in? We could all sit here and make up complaints and pass blame. But, what does...
Some talk about going to the track, I do it. Have you had a chance to track your ACR yet? I'd be happy to compare lap times at MSR or dragstrip times at RPR with you. Grab a lane. Let's see if you can drive that Viper.
I'm not a big silver fan, but THAT combo looks tasty. This silver has a lot of depth to it, nice shadows.
It also seems they have addressed the hood gap fitment.
Please explain to us how this post of yours "helps market the Viper". If you are concerned about marketing the new Viper, have you done your part and purchased one?
Notice that the owners of this car aren't complaining about it. Most of us are tired of the complaining about it, in fact. The...
