No hostility, I'm pretty laid back. Just making a statement that $15,000 for appearance parts is absurd. Carbon fiber isn't some new technology, and aftermarket companies make parts just as nice for much less. I'd be okay spending $5000 on the set, realistically.
You have fun spending a good $15,000 for some carbon fiber cosmetics, because that is probably what all three carbon packages will end up costing. Exterior, Aero, and Interior.
Woodhouse should come out with it's own product, at reasonable pricing. Places like Seibon and Anvil specialize in making high-quality carbon parts, and they don't need hundreds of orders. Woodhouse could brand label them and have these places manufacture them.

A member here will be making identical copies in carbon, for about half the price. Mopar fails again. These items were unveiled at SEMA, almost a year ago. Yet, we have nothing available.
It isn't very intrusive, at all. You do hear the brakes clicking, sort of like ABS, but don't really feel the car shift around much. When I would go too hot into corners and try and recover, the outer front wheel would make the ABS clicking sound, depending on left or right turn. I was able...
Loose rumor mill is hinting at the Z07 being a 5.5L supercharged "LT4" with the direct injection, roughly 600 hp. The ZR1 is likely to have twin-turbos and 700 hp.
SRT better get on the ball.
That is incorrect. The Gen V has both ESC and TCS. First time for both systems in a Viper. Get the car out on a road course, and push the limits in a turn, and you'll feel it trying to manipulate the car. I found the Gen V easier to push the limits of, compared to my Gen 3. The Gen 3 hits...
Any bets that the higher-hp Z07 or ZR1 will be released, and will have performance modifications released, sooner than Mopar offers any performance parts for the Gen V Viper?
C7 is a great car for the money. The higher hp C7's will be no joke.
I don't have any plans to sell my Vipers. I've gotten to that point where I start keeping the cars I like, and just replacing the cars I'm "okay" about. At least we are not part of the AMG Benz club, where we lose 50% of value in the first 2 yrs :)
Widebody versions of cars are for extra tire clearance. The Gen V already stuffs a 355 tire in the back, stock - with room to spare. Can fit a 315 front. The cars are already "widebody" by most standards, especially in person. I would like to see a streetable version of the GT3-R though...
Interesting that they pull the two computer harness plugs in that dyno video. Last time I watched it, I didn't have my car yet, so I didn't catch that detail. Looks like your solution for dyno testing.
This thread seems like another one of those threads that pops up about every six months here. You know the kind, the "I'm only XX age, and I'm a badass because I own a Viper." Or, "Who is the youngest Viper owner here?"
Does age really matter? If you feel uncomfortable around older people...
Read it again, carefully. I never said I had a resume in car design. I do have a degree in mechanical engineering, however, and have built/modified cars much faster than the factory does. My Viper is around 1200 hp, every system on that car has been modified. By me, in my own shop. It only...
"Trolling" doesn't mean that someone has no background or experience in the subject. It means someone purposely stirring the pot, trying to get a rise or argument out of someone, or this group. Many of us here have engineering degrees, and backgrounds in building/modifying vehicles. That...
It drives identical to my Gen 3. Steering, braking, pedal placement, blind spots, everything feels like Gen 3-4. No difference in drivability. The creature comforts and nicer interior do make the commute more enjoyable, however. The only real improvement in terms of drivability is when you...
Sounds like they are being lazy on their end. This would clearly be a warranty issue, it is a faulty part. Mopar has a 12 month 12K mile warranty.
But, read page 4 - you might be able to get any Chrysler dealership to replace the part, if you have the receipt showing it was purchased from a...
I already bought and mounted up a set of Nitto NT05-R drag radials on my factory Track Pack wheels. I don't want to waste a perfectly good track rental, with traction issues. :)
Not being able to custom tune a performance car is a legit reason for some people to refuse to upgrade. When the Gen 4 came out, my Gen 3 was already making 675 rwhp. I had zero incentive to "upgrade" to a nearly identical Gen 4, which made less power and shared the same chassis/body. So, I...
