Ok, so the hiss was coming from the thermostat gasket .... how do I clean out all the coolant from the top of the block? Hopefully the answer doesn't involve removing the intake manifold.
So I was driving home tonight and had that oh so familiar smell of coolant. Engine temp was fine, but when I shut off the engine, it was hissing at me. Opened the hood and there was coolant on the engine block under the intake manifold :(
Research would indicate the tstat or crossovers ...
Awesome Event ..... best time I ever had with a Viper. The time went by really fast and was sad to see the day come to a close. Great people, great times, great cars.
Thanks
Victor
Kevan,
Wow, that's awesome ... it was great to see you out at the track, and that Viper truck sure can hold its own.
And I thought I had a big weekend of Driving ... Philadelphia to Pittsburgh for BeaveRun ... then up to Niagara Falls and back to Philly area. Over 1000+ miles in 4 days...
Wow, I didn't realize I was the only Viper to pass Kevan ... in a Gen 1 none the less.
It was an awesome day out at the track .... no pressure, just lots of fun. Being my first time out to a track I would say I was a little nervous to start. Running in the Green group, on the first outing...
The decision comes down to a couple factors
With the Autoform, it is on or off .... If you are out driving without it and a popup storm comes along, you're SOL. It does provide more headroom and room for a rollbar
With the trunktop, you can go out without the roof and have it in your trunk...
Grazed a retread on the road the other night ....it should be the responsibility of the driver to clean up his debris. More than retreads, I hate auto debris, hit a tailgate to a pickup truck that was sitting in the middle of the road during rush hour traffic once .... put a 2" hole in the gastank
Anyone taking the turnpike up to Snakes Alive on Saturday morning? We are going to get on @ Downingtown (312) head east and take the NE extension up. There are a few rest stops if anyone wants to caravan up.
The logo photo is a sample of the general paint condition when I received the car .... due to an unfortunate incident, that part of the car has been repainted.
The other 2 photo's are the scratches behind the gas cap that I can't seem to get rid of
So as a test, I took the Viper out today ... Gen 1, and drove in 1st at idle and the car was very smooth. I would think the Gen 3 having a single throttle should only be an improvement over the dual throttle's of the Gen 1
I'd just say that you should look at the ads on ebay and find what catches your eye and duplicate that style in photos and wording
I'm pretty sure that at that price, you would have no problem selling it on ebay ... just having it on the VCA website significantly reduces your buying market...
Funny, having gone from driving stick on significantly underpowered vehicles like a dodge charger 2.2, dodge shadow, etc ... I found the stick in the Viper to be very easy to drive. Adequate power definitely makes a stick easier to drive
Huge thanks to kcobean and junkman. I tried my PC a couple of times and had limited success, having watched kco's video and junkman's critique of it I found that I had many of the same mistakes. Also, watching kelly hack away at his new Viper I decided that trying it out again on a 16yr old is...
We attended the FabSpeed Cars n Coffee this morning, attendance was a little on the light side as the weather was not looking great at the start of the morning, and the Fabspeed guys said they didn't advertise it very well
After we were all assembled, we drove over to the FabSpeed shop in...
