You guys 100% sure? I've been told it can't be done without tilting the motor up to clear the front fascia
My rear pads were the squeaking set. The fronts squeaked a little but the backs were bad. You could just try changing the backs if you want to keep the fronts. My squeak never went away even after 25K miles and many high speed stops. EBC greens will stop the squeal and have very little dust...
I added HD half shafts and get nearly zero wheel hop now. I guess it's the extra weight on the suspension that has reduced it. Tires & air pressure don't make any difference (at least for mine) had MMX3 then sports now Kumhos and they all did it.
Re: What are the best 17\" and 18\" tires available for strip and street
Kumhos are only available in 17" but they are much better on the street than sports. On the drag strip I've not had much luck with Kumhos (other have) Best thing with the Kumhos you don't kill your handling like a drag...
<BLOCKQUOTE><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial">quote:</font><HR>It seems the general feeling is that supercharger plus nitrous equals 800hp equals blown motor. Just curious as to why people think that. Don't the DLM cars have 800hp and stock internals?

I don't think it's...
*Transmission had to be rebuilt because of bad second gear by current owner (about 2K ago). Clutch was replaced at that time but still feels like it engages near the stop (adjustment?)
- Don't think it needs adjustment nor do I think it can be adjusted. Mine starts to release about mid way to...
That's cool Well I have BTR heads now which I'm going to put on in a couple of weeks. The nitrous is a PITA so I'm thinking of ditching it in favor of a supercharger later this year. But then I'm thinking I'll be lucky to sell the nitrous kit for half of what I paid for it, so might as well...
So SLITHRN, your saying that your going to put a 8 lb supercharger + 300 shot on a stock motor? Have you talked to any of these guys about this? Seems like a good combo to grenade your motor with Seriously I don't think it's going to work unless you don't use more than one bottle per year.
I'm...
Yes wait until you need to change the clutch. I have the aluminum flywheel (replaced clutch/flywheel 27K miles) and really can't tell much difference. Seems way, way overrated IMHO.
Update on the Porsche. He had some ET streets (M/T I think) and lifted the front wheels off the ground at the starting line (about 2 feet) then let off and lifted them again 100 feet out. That was his first run 11 something @140 I didn't see his 2nd run but was told he lifted the tires again...
I agree with you about the 500 cubes I wish the GT-40 had a big cube engine, but it don't. Even with 500 cubes I don't think DC can squeeze out 600HP because of emission laws, unless they go the supercharged route, in that case 650HP should be easy.
Also keep in mind the Z06 weighs 3,000 lb...
I think it's funny how all the SRT supporters say how great the car will be, how much power, how much better on a road course, blah, blah, blah... and so what if the SRT don't look bad asp like the older cars, it will make up for it in performance. But guess what? Not only will the SRT look...
Anyone try and port the stock TB? results? I'm thinking of getting a stock set ported by David Wilks to go along with some new heads. He claims good results from them, but don't know if I should.
All great points but one thing about the GT-40 which is still not known is the performance on a road course against the SRT. I think the GT-40 will hand the SRT it's asp there as well. It's lighter, lower, excellent breaks, just as much power and I'll bet Ford is going to make one killer...
I'm not sure what the conversion is but 8.0-8.1 @ 92-93 is what I typically will run in the 1/8 which is 12.3-12.4 @ 116-117 this is w/o nitrous of course
I hook much harder on the street than the track with stock tires.
BTW what was your times? My very first time at the track I ran a...
I agree with those that say the cars will not go up in value anytime soon, but the nice thing is they will not go down much either.
Here is my prediction
0-1 years - price drop 5-8%
1-2 years - price drop another 5%
2-3 years - price drop another 3%
3-5 years - price stable (but really...
I have BRT's roll bar and IMHO it's much less intrusive into the cabin than autoforms. If you want a roll bar because your required to have one then you should consider BTR you can see some pics on my website below.
Edit I've attached some pics for your viewing pleasure
I do not believe it's a Viper V-10 that are considering, but rather a smaller 5.something V-10 I'm sure someone that knows more than me will chime in.
Also what's a bi-turbo twin turbo?
Being that I'm not all that interested in Porsches I really didn't pay much attention to it other than watch it run. It looks like a normal Porsche on the outside and has a roll bar (possibly a cage) I didn't look that close.
I believe it's a streetable car but can't say for sure. It's not a...
Thanks Tony! So it's true Paxton going to make the kit, excellent
Wonder what SVSi is going to do now after all they have 30 people on a waiting list for a $3,200 supercharger not a $7-8K supercharger HAHAHA we all called your BS nice try though.
I know where I WILL NOT be buying the kit from!
My .02
quicker (time) = ET's = win at drag strip
faster (speed) = MPH = win on the street
Do you want a faster car, or a quicker car? What is your primary use of the car? I know mine
Play by the rules of the game. If you want to win at the track then yes ET is king. We have little choice...
I've seen that car at the track a couple of times times, he was hitting low 11's @140 he probably changed tires to go 10's the turbos sounded awesome. It's a trailer car, I've passed the truck towing it on the way home one night.
BTW What did you run? I'm planing on going next Friday the 17th...
