    GEN 1 - QUESTION

I had the cylinder sleeves shift at about 10K miles, so that is why I have a new 97 engine in a GEN I.

    Carbon fiber rotors/pads?

Everyone is right so far. The operating temp on the carbon/ceramic comp rotors is at 1000 C or more. When they are orange is when they work the best. So for our applications, they would be useless and more dangerous.

    Replicar Viper

It does look well made, but for the $$ I would bite the bullet and get a used Viper. It loos better than the Fierrari's i see.

200 mph. How much HP do I need?

You need a Ferrari F50.....I hit 200 mph/325 kph in it and felt secure. It only has 600 hp (modified) but it could also can stop. Tires that can take those speeds and precisely balanced. Suspension that is race-like is needed as well and with aerodynamics, Chuck is dead on.

    I need a sensor (picture)

I changed that sensor when we were converting the GEN I heart to a GEN II heart. I cannot remember what I did with it now. Did you try to unscrew it and it broke? Did it have a flap in the middle? It is a temp sensor. I bought one from Autozone and it cost something like $10. I am in Italy...

    RT/10 Owners ...Heads up!

Sorry it took me a while to answer...I leave it loose so I can double check that they are on at the same tension everytime. Also being loose doesn't keep the seals as pressed and lessens the rubber's memory on the seals.

WTF!!!! No room to remove oil filter after 998 Recall. HELP!!!

Like we aren't crafty enough to make our own pieces and weld them in? Those people are incompetent monkeys. Did they get an installation sheet with it or did they just get 2 slabs of metal with some rivets?

my head lights wont go on

It seems like the problem is in the switch itself. Maybe the wires are disconnected behind the switch. I have a similar problem with the dome light and I suspect the switch, so I need to replace that and see.

Are Vipers too big to drive in Europe.

Diesel is cheaper in Italy when compared to gasoline, so that is why there are many diesel versions of cars and small liter engines with turbos. The problem with the gasoline is that it is badly refined and dirty here in Italy. The quality of the gas is next to garbage. Just as an example....I...

I would have a red white and blue Viper. From the rear left a white Viper, then right side a blue Viper and center forward a red Viper.

    RT/10 Owners ...Heads up!

When the car is parked at home, I keep the latches "open". I have the V-mania top, so I loosen the rear bolts and unlatch the front pins. So I don't forget to drive with the top loose, I keep the sun visors down to remind me that the latches are loose. Thanks for the head's up!

    More MOMO Steering Wheels...(pics)

Re: More MOMO Steering Wheels... Gerald..I do think that the GEN I wheel is MOMO made. I even removed my stock buckle so I would always wear the 4 pt SABELT seat belt....much safer than the stock belt.

Are Vipers too big to drive in Europe.

I live in Italy for .5 of the year and I can tell you this....... there is enough room, but not in the smaller towns of Italy. The people are not as respectful to the car and therefore would lean on it like it is theirs. As we all well know, the turning radious of the Viper is a bit short. This...

    Thoughts on a hardtop

I have been thinking on a system as you described, light weight and storeable. I have some models on paper, but I am looking to make models to get the right geometry and look. I can make them out of CF if I can get the function right. If anyone has ideas, I'm all ears...

    Can anyone beat my time?

I drove a Ferrari F50 for about 8000 miles, why? With our new business, I will be doing some F1 connections and hopefully drive one with my connections. At what ever race we would all take on, we would be busted anyway, wether it be 1/8th or 0-100. Maybe I'm not a fan of 1/8th since I didn't...

    UPS @#%$*& ME BIG TIME!

Both Fed-Ex and UPS f***ed me that same way. Once for BMW parts and once on important documents. I called them up and they both did nothing!!! So I ship stuff OVER NIGHT with a guarantee and they don't live up to their part. They don't even reimburse you or nothing. They pretty much say oh well...
