I would like raise this issue again. Just noticed that I burned over a quart of oil in about 1000 miles! I know I've been driving pretty hard but this seems rediculous.
Issac - you bastich  With my luck, you might be right...
Citysnake - I was afraid of that... this is the third time I hear that headers do not do much for cremepuff years.
Pavenom - you are right only if you have an a-hole dealer. So far, they have not complained or have hinted...
My 2002 GTS with mods listed below is making around 420rwhp/460rwt. What can I expect with headers, rockers? And then with VEC2? I am trying to do stealthy bolt-ons so I can still have valid warranty.
Thanks!
If I had to wager a guess, I bet you are just fine. I think I've done equally painful things to my Viper and still runs strong. Just keep your ears open for unusual noises and you ass on the seat for strange vibration/performance degradation.
I know we've covered this several times but other than Snake Oyl and Magnaflows, who offers 4" polished tips? None of them seem to offer the 3" inlets so it will work with aftermarket. My biggest problem is proper alignment - I would like to have the tips coming out as straight as possible vs...
Bonkers - were your fogs H3's? Also, does HID work well with the fog light lens in the Viper. They are not clear and wasn't sure if is compatible with HID light. Any one with picts of fog hids? Thanks
I didn't realize there was a x-over from the factory. Where is it located? I thought there was just a x-over by the tweeter but not on the door's. Am I wrong? When I installed mine, I took the signal from the factory door speaker (6") to my new crossover and then to the components
Russ M - Thanks for the reply, I will use little more elbow greae this time and see what happens.
Zx1100/TOOOFST - I am definitely considering both no cat and headers but concerned about passing emission in IL.
Baz - thanks bro! Now, I wish I had better looking tips like yours!
As suggested by BAZ on the forum, I removed the rear muffler from my Borla cat back system. It was a royal PIA getting it off but the new exahust note (deeper and slightly louder) is delectable. Definitely louder but not obnoxiously loud. More bubbling during decleration. Looking back I...
Thanks for the replies.
Sorry for the confusion, what I meant was removing the muffler and not replacing it with a pipe. I am having custom pipe fabricated and wanted to know if I could perhaps check out the sound before going without a muffler set up on my Borla.
This may be a stupid question but is it safe to drive GTS without the rear muffler assembly/tip? I am most concerned with hot exahust gas melting something under neath the trunk area?
CMilViper - please check your tranny mount. You will also notice a loud bang if you downshift aggressively. After getting the mount fixed, I noticed much less vibration. But, after only 2 months, I think my mount is broken again. I would def look into getting that aftermarket mount.
