Also check tranny mount - mine was broken and made a loud bang noise when I would accelerate. Now, the noise is back during hard accerleration - from stop or roll - so I am thinking it's either bad engine mount or loose exhaust.
Re: Springs installed next week, should I have alignment done at the same t
Bat - what spec are you using for the alignment? Factory?
GTS Dean - Can you please tell us more of this torque procedure? I am doing this at home and don't want to screw up. Thanks!
Anyone have experience with Roe's bumper guard
http://www.roeracing.com/ProductCart/pc/viewPrd.asp?idcategory=16&idproduct=72
I did read that it came loose after a couple weeks so I am a bit apprehensive about it sticking to the body panel.
Thanks in advance!
Is there a rule of thumb for adjusting Koni? I am installing Eibachs and car is a street car only so I don't want too harsh of a ride but also do not want to bounce. Which setting would you guys recommend? Thanks in advance!
Inferno - the wheels look amazing. Is it lowered using Eibach? (your signature states that it's lowered) If so, did you adjust the shock setting? Thank you
I am planning to lower as well but struggling to find a shop in Chicagoland to do it at a reasonable price. Speaking of which, what's a reasonable price for installing springs? I have gotten around $600 to do the install.
knuk - Thank you for the reply. Cross section is the dead center, below the emblem, correct? It is definitely firmly attached but the bottom prong is not hooked to the bottom of the valence... Thanks!
I just got JonB's bracket. It was an easy install and I recommend getting a nice plate frame to match. Only question I have is does the short end of the prong go on top? I can't seem to have both latch at the same time - it's only the top part. It fits secure but just curious if I screwed...
Great info. Is there any rub issues with Eibach? I am reading a few post about having to have your wheels turned to open hood etc. I have 19" with identical rolling height as stock. Also, how much can I expect to drop with the springs? I am hearing about an inch front and inch and half for...
There must be some conspiracy these days but last week I got pulled over by a prickless wonder Schaumburg cop for squealing tire. It was below 50 degrees and I didn't have best traction but I certainly wasn't driving recklessly... Anyway, I ended up getting 3 tickets - 1) squealing tires 2) no...
TTT - Bo Knows - have you fixed your issue? I can't tell whether my drivetrain noise duing hard accerleration is 1)excessive wheel hop 2) broken engine mount or 3) loose exhast parts. I know it's not tranny mount as I just put energy mounts on...
Jeff - awesome driving. One thing I noticed is that you didn't let your RPM drop that much between shifts. I must be a terrible drag racer but for some reason my rpm seems to drop down alot more between shifts. What am I doing wrong??
Thanks!
Sorry if this was discussed before but what I can I expect with 2002 GTS (nearly stock dynoing around 430rwhp/465rwtq) + Roe charger/tuned? What psi is recommended for 2001/2002? Thanks
Is it possible to visually check engine mount from the top? Should I just use a level to see that it's not leaning in either direction? The reason I am asking is I am getting quite a bit of wheel hop when I downshift aggressively or launching. I thought it was tranny mount but it's not. Or...
Thanks for the dyno post. Looks like you picked up serious amount of torque!!! I presume you have more power to be had if you leaned out the car? How did you measure the AF? is it still accurate to put the sensor at the muffler?
