It's not complicated. Lower compression resists detonation, the archenemy of forced induction. You can pump huge amounts of boost into a properly built low compression motor, and you just can't do that on a high compression motor, because other methods of resisting detonation (higher octane...
Ben, I take it you don't agree with the sentiments of some that you take your life in your hands driving BFG's on the street due to the sidewalls flexing? What pressure do you run in them on the street, and how do they stick?
It looks like I would expect coming from the Poser King. :D That is, excellent! Thank goodness someone finally junked those crappy looking black elbows. :2tu:
Yes, two sets, with no problems whatsoever. They are apparently a fairly large operation that buys up excess stock in bulk from some of the tire manufacturers or wholesalers. If you need 'em, buy 'em.
Does the AEM setup use any adaptives like the factory PCM? I know adaptives are a pain when you're trying to keep a tune just right for a given set of circumstances, but if you do away with them, how do you compensate for changes in the environment (like 40 degree dry air in the winter versus...
No, not really. The conventional wisdom is that with that much torque you become traction limited, particularly in 1st, and the drag racers usually don't like them because they can cause the need for a shift into 5th before reaching the traps. Both these points have merit, but then again 1Tony...
3.55's would make a very noticeable difference. Many people think gears are the best "bang for the buck" mod out there. I've heard of a few people running 3.73's, but 3.55's seem to be by far the most common alternative ratio. BTW, Roe's soon to be released s/c for the Gen. I's would make an...
Aren't they made by Bosch? If so, I think they're the same as the standard injectors that come with the Roe kit. The Bosch 42 lb injectors have an excellent reputation; stock Viper injector connectors are another story. They will generally work, but several of us know from experience you're...
Keith, there are no worries about Accufab's quality. If you were a 'stanger you probably would have heard all about Accufab as its owner, John Mihovetz, is a big-time Mustang drag racer. Last I heard he was running 6's I think.
They're the same ones Roe Racing sells for $50 less:

Plus you get Sean's customer service. IF you want them, a no-brainer. The IF being, you're probably wasting your money if your...
Dan, I was talking about the dryer hose looking hoses that connect to the throttle bodies. The custom tuners all use all metal (often polished), but then again I think their stuff is all one piece going back to the blower. It might not be feasible to replace the hoses since you'd have to...
Nice pics Dan. How long is it going to be before one of you guys develops some replacement elbows for the Paxton kit to replace the stock pieces? They're the only thing that keep the Paxton setup looking subpar compared to the custom jobs. I bet 9 out of 10 buyers would buy replacement metal...
Not too long (mileage wise) after my blower went on my car started missing terribly. Fortunately it happened the day before Dr. Macedo was making a housecall, and he put the new injector connectors on and it hasn't missed since. It may well not be why you're getting the code, but I would...
Jorgen owns RaceDeck and as a fellow Viper owner and VCA member he gives VCA members a discount. So you need to contact RaceDeck directly and ask for the VCA discount.
Thanks for the info, and now we know where the claim came from (I didn't think Brad made it up). But it looks like they're comparing a pretty pathetic result from a magazine road test of a non-ABS car with what they got after their brake upgrade on a different car with a different driver. The...
Stop-Techs are great brakes, and I'd love to believe that, but there is no way it's true for an ABS car (you don't really believe it will reduce the stopping distance to less than 80 feet do you?), and I frankly doubt it's true for any Viper assuming you use the same driver. 45 feet from 60 mph...
Re: Which of you has HRE 547\'s or 546\'s -- photos please
Manny, copy and paste this address for a pic of one of the rears:

For some reason I couldn't get it to come up in the post automatically. I...
Re: Which of you has HRE 547\'s or 546\'s -- photos please
Manny, the HRE 545/6/7 R series looks better than the older design IMO because of the wide flat lip, a lot like the new Purner wheels. Like the Purners, the HRE R's have so far been available only in 19" (at least for the rear)...
So what Kumho calls the V700 here is the V70A in Europe? If there is no doubt that these are the ultra-sticky Kumhos we've heard about from the 17" guys I think they'd be well worth the investment. The only other option is the BFG, and it's apparently not nearly as stable through the turns...
