Yeah, and I think I can divide by 0 too. Someone better make 800 rwhp w/o some combination of NO2, race gas, or water/meth before anyone starts talking about 900 rwhp.
I went back to stock after switching to the Heffner blower setup, and I have a Unitrax "tuned posi" w/3.55's in perfect condition. It was only on the car for ~400 miles, so it's just broken in. It cost over $2k new, and I'm looking to get $1,300 for it.
I also have a brand new Roe 10 lb...
Re: Other than the Viper, what exotic car holds it\'s value well?
Sean, almost any late-model Ferrari or Lambo is going to hold its value much better than a Viper, if, as you say, you buy the car right to begin with. That would be at or slightly over MSRP for a new one, or something less than...
The BFG is not going to be anywhere close to the Cups (or Kumhos) in the handling department, even at 30 psi, because the sidewalls are much, much softer than the other tires. If you want to go even moderately fast around corners, go with the Cups or Kumhos. The BFG's can't be beat for...
I've read a lot about it on some import forums and the feedback seems very positive. Several people who have knock sensors logged the difference between how much timing was pulled with 93 or 94 and with one or two cans of torco added, and it was significant. But no one seems to really know...
Forget the paint or epoxy and get Racedeck. No prepping the floor, no cracking, peeling, etc. and you can even take it with you if you move again. Not to mention the fact that the owner of the company is a Viper owner and car racer and will give you a 10% VCA discount.
Chevy had a development mule of a "supervette" running around called the Blue Devil, which supposedly made 600+ hp using a supercharged or TT 427. Rumors were it would cost $100k+ and compete with the Ford GT if it was ever approved for production.
It's as if they developed it thinking that every possible competitor would stand pat as of 3 years or so ago and not close the gap, and that simply adding a hardtop and a leftover Gen. II rear end parts would keep the Viper at the top of everyone's wish list. Yet you don't have to be an...
I said it won't sell well at that price, not that it won't be a nice car. . . . dude. If the price is more like $60k I think it would sell well. And it will need another 300-400 hp before I'll be worried about it.
If the new Z06 is $75k+, they will be parked in lonely groups near the SSR's they can't give away. And eventually subject to five figure discounts and rebates. It may be an awesome performance car and still a good value for the performance offered, but non-Vette owners aren't going to pay that...
Re: what is the stickiest 19
The short answer is there are no good options. It's pretty much Pilots or Pirelli's, and neither is anywhere near as sticky as Kumho V700's or a drag radial like the BFG. The comp coupe uses 18" rear tires, unlike the SRT-10.
The BFG's are much better for drag racing than the Kumhos. Lots of people like the Kumhos better for the street because they corner really well, and the BFG's with their squishy sidewalls don't, but I don't think you'll hear anyone claim the Kumhos are a better drag tire than the BFG's.
Adam, are these new castings, or just new work on the factory castings? If the number DC mentioned the other day is accurate (340 cfm), that would be amazing with factory castings considering the limitations imposed by the water jackets.
Ron, how does t/c help on a top speed run on the salt? Is there a limited amount of space you have so that accelerating up to top speed still must be accomplished relatively quickly (which t/c would help)? I wouldn't have thought it would have made any difference out there. Unless you're...
Depends on which ones you get, but there are some much more reasonable ones out there now compared to a few years ago. One option is to use the factory ones that come on the ACR cars, which are adjustable (you might even find a slightly used set somewhere like PartsRack or the classifieds...
If you mean if you have adjustable coilovers is that all you need to adjust height, the answer is yes. They have adjustable spring perches so you can go up or down in essentially infinite increments by rotating the perch. You might need an alignment if you go up or down a significant amount...
Pretty much every combination through 20" has been done. 20/20, 20/19, 19/19, 19/18. It's just a matter of personal preference. And you may need to lower the car some depending on which combo you use and how much gap you like between the tire and fender lip. Adjustable coilover shocks are a...
I'll be interested to see how well the programming of the t/c transfers to changes in conditions (tire pressure, ambient temperature, surface condition, etc.). I didn't ask him, but I'm assuming if he's programming high hp cars so they can go WOT on wet pavement, it must transfer pretty well to...
If you're upgrading the internals (I think you asked about replacing pistons too if I recall), you can get non-bleed down lifters from DC Performance or probably Jason Heffner. I got mine from DC for around $250-275; oddly enough I think they're made for one of the Ram trucks.
Russ, there is no doubt I probably could "do it" from the standpoint of limiting wheelspin, but I don't want to lose 100 hp in the process. According to my tuner, getting it just right on a high hp car (IOW limiting spin w/o killing much power) can be tricky. He's been practicing on...
