Anybody else get a brochure from Mopar to get Gen 1 and Gen 2 accessories now?

If you don't get 'em soon, such as car covers, Mopar RT/10 roof, etc, there won't be any more stuff around. They won't be making any new accessory parts from what I read in the brochure. Geez, it sure makes it look like Mopar really wants to support the "older generation" Vipers doesn't it...

    Reclining seat

The seats on our '94 "recline" too. I thought the storage space behind the seat was 15 sq. in.! There's more storage space under the seat than behind it! However, because I am only 5'-8" tall, I can move the seat up front more, and even manage to store both V Mania widows in the storage bag...

Should I sell my removed parts (and how)?

Having been into the muscle car market for a long time, you always get more for a car that is as original as possible. Any changes to stock, and I mean any, resulted in fewer people being interested in the car, and a lower sale price too. And if it is a high mileage car, having all the...

    VIPER HEAVEN in Nebraska?? (photo)

Looks like a mini version of CAAP! I would love to walk into a garage like that, and have it be mine. Well, when I win the next Big Game lotto drawing.

DOT 5 out, DOT 4 Hi Temp in

Jon B, I'm not so sure it's good for breasts either! From what I understand, it is better for use in most of the older muscle cars as they are driven even less than most Vipers, and it does not attract moisture. That is a killer for older muscle cars, and they do not use the cars on road...

DOT 5 out, DOT 4 Hi Temp in

Finally got back to the dealer for a brake fluid change, they had put in DOT 5 silicone fluid a bit over a month ago. They bled the brakes and flushed it out tonight, and changed it over to DOT 4 High Temp fluid. Did not charge me for anything, also got my 200 mile break in oil change (per...

K-Car vs Supra @ Drag Strip

Holy Plymouth Reliants Batman, a 10 second K-Car, amazing! That car has got to have a lot of mods done to the 4 banger to turn a time like that. Sooo long Supra. I think a lot of the younger crowd was surprized at that outcome, the K-Car just dusted the Supra right from the word go. Turbos...

Check Sears for New Michelin Pilot prices

Price I got from Sears complete with tax, balance and new stems was $665.50 total including the 10% off for using the charge card. Not bad at all, the best other local price I got was 429.99 each, so that is a big difference. The Tire Rack is also good, but I just want it all from one place...

Check Sears for New Michelin Pilot prices

I have found they have the best prices around here for new Michelin Pilot Sport rear tires on our 94! And if you use your Sears credit card, you get another 10% off. However, I will be watching them like a hawk when the actually do the install, as they do not do many tire installs (mount...

My engine is on it's way to Arrow.

Re: My engine is on it\'s way to Arrow. Mine went out the end of October, 2001, got it back mid December, but again, a total rebuild. About 6 weeks total. If you can get it back within a couple of weeks, that is great! You won't lose much driving time with the better weather up now. But, the...

    DC Extended Warranty Worthless?

I got a complete Arrow rebuild with my DC warranty so nobody is going to tell me that it is not worth anything! However, it does depend heavily on the dealership! The people on the other end of the phone at DC were great to deal with, and very good customer service!

2500 RPM max, is that hard to do!

Have just put the first 100 miles or so on the car since the Arrow rebuild and am following the Arrow break in letter. Try driving up to 2500 rpm and no higher for 200 miles! Yikes, it is very hard to do, but I want to break it in exactly how the instructions state. The next 200 miles goes up...

My Side Sill Just Caught On Fire!!!!!!!!!!!

Sean, That is one hot Viper you got there! Hope you can solve the problem, maybe Jon B or Sean Roe can jump in here with some advice on how to shield the side sills from heat. If anybody has the stuff to do it with, they should.

2500 RPM max, is that hard to do!

AAArrrggg, another day of lousy cold weather in Michigan, and rain and snow to boot, and no more miles on the car! When will this torture ever end? Gotta go out tomorrow and put some more miles on the car. I keep asking my wife "Do you want to go for a ride?" about every evening I can get...

Extended Warrantees (What one to get?)

If you can get the Maximum Care Service Contract from Chrylser, get it! I got the 0 deductible one and it has been super. As you can see in my avitar etc, I got the engine rebuild done through it too, no cost at all! The folks on the other end of the phone line are great to work with, very...

A Viper payment may be closer than you think...

Well Chris, only take millionaires with lots of pocket change out for rides in the Viper and who knows what you'll find under the passenger seat. With my kind of luck, I'll probably find last year's half eaten Wendy's #2 combo meal under my driver's seat!

    Z06 no Viper

I beleive that the clutch has two hydraulic cylinders on the Viper, a master on the firewall, and a slave cylinder at the clutch fork. I do not find it hard to hold in or push down on the Viper clutch at all, not like when I had a '70 Cuda 340 4 speed that needed a left leg like Arnold...

    DOT 5 Brake Fluid

Looks like it is back to the dealer and a change of brake fluid to DOT 4 for me. Just curious Jon, why would it be more of a danger in wet or damp conditions?

    DOT 5 Brake Fluid

Just had my fluid changed to DOT 5 by the dealer. He feels that it will not hurt anything on the Gen 1 breaking system. Have any of you used DOT 5 and how has it stood up so far? Did you have to change any seals or anything beforehand? They just flushed system and replaced with DOT 5. I...

    Oil Leak....still leaking....still leaking.....

Four walls, a ceiling and a floor, four walls, a ceiling and a floor, four walls, a ceiling and a floor! That's what the garage looks like without the Viper in it! try going without it for about three months! Makes you lose weight, stomp the heck out of the PT Cruiser gas pedal, but it still...

    Life Expectancy Of Rear Tires

I have about 15K on our MMX tires on the rear, and will be looking for new ones this spring! I do not hot dog, only have drag raced it 3 times at VOI 6 and made some runs around the Gingerman last two years (about 10 - 12 total), that's it as far as pushing the tires. Been told 15 to 20 K is...

    Oil Leak....still leaking....still leaking.....

Check the camshaft positioner sensor, it has an o-ring around it that may also be leaking up front. Mine did, and once they replaced it, the oil leak stopped. About a 10 minute fix. they should be able to see it right away, if that is what it is, but it is up front, not at the back of the enigne.

Hey Vipermad, can we post pictures yet from this site?

Hi Tony, Can we post pictures yet on this site, by using this site? I know you mentioned it was almost ready, is it done yet? If not, when do you think it will be ready? Inquiring minds want to know!

Dealer Called me this AM, The Viper is Ready!

Couldn't wait, got it back home tonight. The weather was good, the weatherman was wrong, it cleared up, the roads dried up and back came the car. Gotta watch the breakin of the engine now for the first 1K miles, have to follow the recommended rpms and throttle up, etc. don't want to break it...

Dealer Called me this AM, The Viper is Ready!

Brett, I think you posted your reply on the wrong thread, but I gotta say, Dodge and Chrysler have been very good to deal with on this engine rebuild situation for the Viper. Everything I have brought the car in for (which up to the engine rebuild has really only been minor stuff), has been...
