Dealer Called me this AM, The Viper is Ready!

Together Again! Brought the car back to the dealer on Saturday by flatbed. Got a call this morning from the service manager that the engine is back in and the car is ready to go. (Be still my beating heart!) He told me the dealership owner took it out for a short trial run to make sure it is running the way it should, and it's ready for pickup. Now if only the white fluffy stuff would stop falling from the sky, I'd go pick it up. Y'know, it's darn hard to find a set of snow tires for a '94 Viper! Hopefully by this weekend, the car will be back in its heated nest, waiting for better weather to sun itself in. Isn't this the first day of spring?

I think you posted your reply on the wrong thread, but I gotta say, Dodge and Chrysler have been very good to deal with on this engine rebuild situation for the Viper. Everything I have brought the car in for (which up to the engine rebuild has really only been minor stuff), has been taken care of in a first class manner. I really think that the dealer makes a big difference too. We bought a PT Cruiser from this same dealer last August, and bought the service contract for the Viper from them as well. We have been very satisfied with them (Wayland Chrysler is a 5 Star Dealer), and it doesn't hurt them to have a Viper in the shop when customers come calling, it can only build confidence in the customer to see that a Viper owner trusts them to repair his or her Viper, so they feel more secure in bringing their car there for service.

Couldn't wait, got it back home tonight. The weather was good, the weatherman was wrong, it cleared up, the roads dried up and back came the car. Gotta watch the breakin of the engine now for the first 1K miles, have to follow the recommended rpms and throttle up, etc. don't want to break it in wrong. Man it felt great to be behind the wheel again. got smiles and looks from drivers all the way home. It's still got it!

Let me know if you actually get a reply. I am going through hell with GM over similar and worse problems with my 2000 Coupe. It has been made very clear that the company does not care unless it directly and immediately threatens your safety and their wallet. If you can't get the overheating problems squared away after so many fixes and # of days at the dealer just file for your Florida's lemon law.

Believe me, I tried to work with GM and they basically wasted 6 weeks of my life. The larger companies only understand legal action. Send in your lemon law application or BBB filing and they might come to the table. Maybe DC is willing to cater more to Viper owners than GM is to Corvette owners.
