Just to add another possible side-feed injector, 93-95 RX-7 used a 850cc (81#) in their secondaries. You can usually pick up a good pair for $30-50. Be careful though, the rotaries are known for cooking injectors, so sometimes the plastic casing is brittle and cracking.
Sounds like something electrical like everyone has said. You also have an aftermarket alarm, so we will have to look at the wiring for that as well.

I did it to open that large connection on the airbox for the PCV syst so I could put my catch can on that side of the compartment
it makes more sound with a filter on it

I won't matter where you tap into the signal, as long as you are careful to get the right wires. Disconnect the harness from the PCM to do it and disconnect the battery while you're working on this as well.
