Nicely done. You have attempted to transform your anecdotoal situation into a belief that all Gen I cars are doomed to have engine rebuilds at massive expense.
Is it your goal in life to devalue every car by $10K or more because you were lucky (or unlucky?) enough to need a rebuild?
Many...
Gee, I did not know anyone had driven a SLR with an eye toward exhaust heat (if at all). Was there a report that the production SLR had no exhaust heat from side exhaust? Also the SLR exhaust seems to exit before the front door, so that would be an issue. Oh, and the SLR costs a bit more
It's "gleaned" and I'm happy to know that tax fraud is OK if you don't get caught. If you are indeed exporting the car and it will never be registered in the US, then I thought that sales tax would not have to be paid - when I bought my Viper from Pemberton I paid no sales tax, as I had to do...
good job launching and extracting times, but a stocck GTS will pull 118 trap speed. I had hoped for at least 121 trap out of the SRT with its supposed aero, weight, power and torque improvements.
This is definitely a potential lemon law issue if it cannot be repaired. The $83,000 question is what's a "reasonable number of attempts." I plan to take the car in repeatedly and document the complaint in DC's system so that at least the dates and number of complaints and any service action...
I took mine to the dealer for the second time on this and can get the problem to repeat. Wiggling and twisting the stalk with the parking lights or headlights on and there is a flicker that can lead to lights going out. If you do this for very long, the parking lights, instrument lights...
Re: Texas does it again... Hang\'em high...
I agree NHRA rules are a pain; but I disagree that a car that can achieve over 140 mph in the 1/4 should be street raced. Those kinds of speeds are simply risky, if not downright dangerous, in an uncontrolled environment with public access, curbs...
Can you say for sure that this will not adversely affect the rotor/housing clearance on supercharged cars? Does Sean Roe endorse this product to be put directly on the blower housing? I sure know Vortech recommends AGAINST putting ice on the housing of its supercharger due to tight...
MoTeC is going to take you some time. The beacon has to be coded to the in-car receiver. To be certain they work together, pass the beacon by the in-car receiver and a LED on the receiver will light up. If you don't get this confirmation, you have to take the beacon and receiver apart in...
I am told PVO is aware of the problem and working on it. I fiddled with the turn signal stalk this morning early and coudl get the lights to cut out and stay out until I cycled them off & on again. I feel confident the turn signal stalk must be at least part of the culprit.
Re: Dallas Viper days-Who\'s going and where to stay?
I can't believe it. This conflicts with a SCCA race weekend at Texas Motor Speedway. Also, at MSR I CAN DRIVE MY SRT as a member, but I can't with Viper days. Bummer.
Tough decision, as I have wanted to participate at Viper days, but I...
Re: Texas does it again... Hang\'em high...
Like it or not, driving is a privilege, not a right, and the states can regulate it as they see fit for the most part. Except for forfeiture issues to the extent you can lose your car for being accused of street racing, look for this system to stay...
Yep, too many poseurs got into the cars and whined about gear rattle, brake squeal. Try the late model brake pads on track or just hard driving - you'll love it ;-)
Fortunately, the car somehow did not lose too much power; my '01 still pulled over 118 in the 1/4.
The Viper is an amazing car and can do amazing things, but when near the limit, it will be traveling so quickly that it will bite hard!
Don't think you are a good driver because you have not had any accidents and your car goes fast. I have made that mistake and so have many others.
Take it to...
I should have said hello at MSR; I was in one of the Spec Miatas fooling around (Blue/White #79). Very impressive car, that GT3 and when he gets it broken in and sticky tires, it will go quite nicely. At MSR, I suspect the GT3 will hand a stock Viper its behind, but then again you are talking...
Re: 18
Stock GenII 18s will not fit. I had hoped to use my 18" OEM track wheels from my GTS on my SRT and no dice. They will not clear the caliper in front and I gave up at that point.
I'd like 18s for the track, too, so I can use the same wheels and tires for my GTS and SRT.
But these...
