The problem withthe 2" kit when I tried it years ago is theat there is no fore-aft adjustment. And I mean the seat ends up where it ends up, period. I did not like the position, so I sent the kit back. For the 2" drop, I'd just make my own brakets, as you basically bolt the seat to the floor...
None of those complaints in 4000+ miles.
The car is tons better in many ways:
(1) Being "normal" sized, I love the seats; best production car seats I've ever sat in. Frankly, I am GLAD that Dodge did not make the seats bigger, as I'd just rattle around in them.
(2) The brakes are simply...
Re: The Video you MUST See. Confirmed Ferrari 355 CHALLENGE car Kill...
Interesting comparisons and all, but also remember that the SCCA seeks parity among T1 racers for good racing, not to see which car is best. A T1 Viper has restrictors and a much higher weight limit than a T1 Ferrari or...
I have just finished the install in my '01. I just got the new firmware and the car has essentially stock driveability and no check engine lights set since the firmware (I got one misfire, cylinder 6, right after the install but before the firmware change). There are some tuning issues, and I...
Treat a Viper like a commodity and you will get a commodity of a car. A Viper, that looks great at 20 ft, but that probably has lots of issues that would bother a particular person (badly scraped fascia, scuffs on the door and side sills from clumsy exit & entry, worn seat bolsters from...
My experience is similar - $3-400 to repaint. I just don't think the film coverings have a nice enough finish and it only takes 30 minutes to pull the fascia for paint. I repaint mine whenever it gets too beat up to tolerate any more (my '01 fascia is off right now for touch-up, so I got 2...
Realistically, budget at least $1000/month overall ownership expense. You might get pleaseantly surprised, but at least you would avoid a distressed sale if you go in expecting less.
I find just the slightest extra effort with the yellows cold on the street. But anything over 50 mph and you can feel the coefficient of friction increase on your first stop. Personally, I prefer these pads because I can feel pad fade on greens in vigorous street driving and I'd rather press a...
I run EBC Yellow on my SRT street and track with good results and surpisingly little dust. I had no fade in 20-30 min sessions, but I did add ducts from the back of the fascia to the rotors. This is my experience at MotorSport Ranch.
I ended up doing as follows:
Remove the lower panel from under the steering wheel, to access the wiring that leads to the ignition switch. I believe you will find a solid blue wire, probe it to make sure it has power only when the ignition switch is on. Splice into it or use a wire tap (I...
All OBD II connectors are the same & should work. If I recall correctly, all LS-1s are OBD II since the engine was introduced in 1997 in the C5 and 1998 in the F-Body.
In this area, I have heard that sticker is possible. It is all timing. The car will get somewhat cheaper as supply catches up - how long are you willing to wait?
On the other hand, if I were buying my first Viper, I would look long & hard at the '02 and earlier cars. Classic styling and...
someone asked me about the content of the letter - here is the email I receved. Prompt and professional, IMO:
DaimlerChrysler Corporation has identified some 2003 Dodge Viper SRT-10s with engine intake valves that missed a secondary machining operation. Your 2003 Dodge Viper SRT-10 has been...
I just received my email confirmation that I get to have this valve work done. I think Dodge handled this the best way it could, but it is a very disappointing problem on a car priced to compete with Porsche, BMW, Mercedes. This will be my car's third need for in-shop and unscheduled service...
I recommend downloading this data and burning your own CDROM. I did this long ago when this link first came up. You never know how long mopar will host this data and that way you will have it.
Re: I think you\'ll like this! Custom paint schemes! LIVE!
I am so glad that the Monterrey graphics did not become "mandatory" as I thought I'd heard. These are much more interesting.
