Tracked the 94' for the first time yesterday. Need help with a strange CE light.

I had that happen twice on my Gen 1. I know it sounds silly but check that yoru battery terminals are tight and that the ground connection is solid to the frame. This can cause both the check engine light and also "appearance of" lower oil pressure on the gauge. I agree with MTGTS, changing the...

    Radar detectors

I tried several others and after reading several commenst bought a V1, then added a second for my wife. The arrow indicators and "bogey" counter are a real plus and help you find hidden radar traps. There are other detectors with voice, etc but the arrows and counters are not a gimmick, you...

    Opinions on Salvage Buy

I have dealt with Scott & Shannon @ X2 on many occasions both personally and have also experiences related back through other local owners and believe their access to a huge inventory of used parts combined with repair shop make repairing a car far more cost effective than a normal repair...

    Next WA VCA meeting?

I spoke to Steve and it looks like a planning meeting is in the works for later this month. Glad to hear your enthusiasm, hope to see you at a few events this year!

    overheating again!

I suggest checking the fluid level and color plus that the thermostat operates. When the fluid level gets low, even if you burp it, air gets back into the system. If there is not water in the overflow, then this will happen, I have seen it several times. Also, if the fluid is orange in color...

    SRT Experience at Pacific Raceways

It appears that Seattle made the list for 2012 of the drive SRT experience! So for those that missed it in 2011, another chance! Pacific Raceways in Kent, 4/20/2012 & 4/21/2012

What's wrong in this undercarriage picture?

This one would require a closer inspection, if you look at the absolutely great picture of a well maintained car by "life is good" it appears the angle of the part on the right on the blue car is off a little. While it is hard to tell for sure since one if straight and one picture off angle, it...

Boys got bit in the ass by an Advance auto parts battery..story to tell

I had a very similar issue, my 99 GTS was running rough. Then the battery died, it was less than 12 months old and when I went to llok at it there was corrosion (white powder) everywhere near the battery. Like you I thought I had a bad or cheap battery, turns out the ground lug to the chassis...

    GEN V Engine on t.v.?

Just watched the show last night and agree, it looks like a Gen4 motor but certainly had a different intake.

    Gen4 ACR Spoiler Height

I agree with Bruce, backing it in would likely help clear any issues. You might also want to adjust your cutoff safety switch so it kills the motor just after the last safety stop but plenty before damage could result. We did this on my lift (left 8" of room) and it helps make storing the car a...

    Gen1 - Gen2 Intake Manifold difference ???

I had done this with my Gen 1 as well. You also should get the Gen 2 throttle bodies and bar between them as it is much better than the two cables and synchronization. :-)

    Get ready you track rats

Looks great, can't wait to get more details! My GTS needs to exercise more in 2012. :-)

    Moton Clubsport N2 Pressure???

If you are near a go kart or quarter midget (kid's racing) facility or race team's shop, they will both have nitrogen tanks and regulators. Many carry a tank in their race trailers. I was amazed earlier this year when I found out how many people were driving around with high pressure Nitrogen tanks.

    Facebook SRT photo contest

A friend sent me a link and for those on Facebook who submitted a photo by 10/29, the pictures were added to their photo album. The photo with the most "LIKEs" wins, please help me propel the LaMans winning Viper to yet another victory. You must have a faceebook account to participate...

from TT Stealth to 99 Viper

Welcome to the Viper Club BBS: I owned a 92 RT twin turbo (now owned by JonB) and later (because I missed it) bought a 93 3000 GT VR4 to keep along side the Viper, they are great cars! My Stealth was pretty modified and even had a racing clutch so was able to chirp all 4 tires and run upper...

295/30/18 on gen 2 stock rims

Yes, they work fine even on the stock 10" rims. I normally run 285s but have also tried 295s. One of our club members even has gone to 305s on the front with the 11" Purner CCW wheels, on the track they are great, a little more difficult around town as they do rub a touch on full wheel lock.

    Vipers per state

The map that Viper magazine published in the past does two things, 1 gives an idea how many Vipers are in a state and 2 helps identify how many members are in that region. The President's of each region usually get a copy of that information at the President's meeting. (It is at a snap shot in...

NW Toy run 2011 - Donate toys for charity & enjoy a Car Show!!!

Here is another classic event that we have participated in for at least the last 5 years (I have a sticker on the SRT from doing it in 2006). It used to include a drive to a park-n-ride then on to Olympia to fill a Toys For Tots semi trailer with our contributions but it has now grown beyond...

    New Car inYelm

For the first time in years I have not been able to make 50% of the VCA events so I am trying to make it up by driving the Viper almost everyday this summer and fall. This will be the first year in almost a decade that I will need an oil change during the driving season! YEAH, these cars are...

First track day at Portland International Raceway!

Yes JonB you are right, certainly miss those days. On several occasions we had VCA only events that drew from Canada, Washington, Oregon and even Rich B would come up from California just to show what a smooth driver with racing slicks could do! JonB was also my first instructor in a slightly...

    Front Splitters, big brakes?

I did the wing/splitter on my Gen 1 and instead did the brake upgrade on my GTS, the advantage of the wing and splitter was that it kept the rear planted which on an RT/10 at speed can be a concern. It allowed me to remove the biasing and dial in more rear brakes which did also give better...

    Just joined the VCA!

Congratulations on your new purchase and welcome to the VCA! The Washington region and Oregon regions both have many events throughout the summer, most of which are posted here but they also have event calendars on their web pages. You may want to check both web pages as many of the Oregon...
