Another Crank Pulley / Harmonic Balancer Slip Instance

Thanks all for the input. Guessing most kept the stock balancer? Especially with mine be NA and stock I think I'll be fine (only 7k miles also). Thanks again. Matt

Another Crank Pulley / Harmonic Balancer Slip Instance

Were you able to leave most of the front end in tact and still get clearance? No fan or radiator removal? Guessing taking the hood off would help the cause also.

Another Crank Pulley / Harmonic Balancer Slip Instance

Finally completely diagnosed my issue (for those of you that saw my other thread). I was hoping that my belt just had a structural failure, but found that my harmonic balancer / crank pulley has begun to slip. It didn't come off nor did I even run it long enough with the issue to have it move...

    Gen 2 Power Steering Issues

Thanks Steve. My p/s bracket is fine. Note also that the impact my car had in the front end didn't really get back into the engine. It was primarily cosmetic. Thanks also for the water pump note, I couldn't recall the details of the issue. Mine was built in March 2002, so later in the run...

    Gen 2 Power Steering Issues

Steering pulley is still plastic, but the water pump was and still is steel. Are you saying that some water pump pulleys were plastic?

Has anyone received their shirt yet?

I was at the gala, no shirt here yet either (and I completed the online request an hour after the gala - couldn't wait!)

    Gen 2 Power Steering Issues

I'm not up-to-speed on the water pump issues, could you enlighten me? My only overheating issue came from the pump pulley not turning.

    Gen 2 Power Steering Issues

OK, so here's another update. I was premature with condemning the steering pump. Upon further investigation, I think that it is fine, as well as all my other accessories. They all turn freely and appear to be OK. However, I found a couple complete pieces of belt, 1 "tooth" wide and 6-8 inches...

    Gen 2 Power Steering Issues

Update... Took the belt off once it cooled down and the steering pulley and all others spin freely now. Anyone ever have the pump just get hot or just intermittently lock up? Venting issues?

    Gen 2 Power Steering Issues

Believe that I lost the power steering pump while driving today. '02 RT/10 with 7k miles.Steering got heavy, so I pulled over and checked under the hood. The pump had seized and that actually was enough to stop the entire belt from turning (I thought it would have just been spnning around the...

With the revised cooling system, so you still plan to run the Gen V engine at the same temp as previous generations? What will the normal range be and fan on point?

Thank You SRT and Ralph Gilles!

Thank you for keeping our beloved car alive. I was at the gala and couldn't resist seeing the GTS & GTS-R again at the auto show a couple of days later. I'm quite glad I did as I arrived just in time to see the GTS rumble through the middle of the show at 11 A.M. after an appearance at the Today...

    Replacing heater hose

I think you will be fine. Do it nose-down to minimize coolant loss. I have found burping at the valve to be most effective. -Matt

    Replacing heater hose

If this is just the small hose connected to the shutoff valve, then yes. You should be able to install a new one without losing anything beside what is in the hose itself. "Burping" will be minimal, depending on how much you can fill the hose during install. If I'm thinking of the wrong hose...

What is the going rate for stock SRT 5 spokes??

I think I've seen them posted before, but does anyone have good pictures of these new 5 spokes on a Gen 2? Is the speedo recalibration easy (electronic) for the larger rear wheels? Thanks in advance!
