This is a web condensed version of what was in today's Richmond paper. Not a new story--I have had car almost 3 years.
The actual paper edition has an insert of Bob's new book, as well as a pick of my 2010 FE. They manage to mix up Bob and me in picture but that's ok since even though he is...
I have a friend that has 12 miles on a 92 snake. Another has 80,000 on a Ford GT which is unheard of. Which one do you think has had the most fun?
BTW, Jon, I have the original factory 19 year old tires on my 92. Periodic rotation is the key......
I have had 7 Vipers and maybe as many Vettes. Last one was a C6. Also an XLR and XLR-V made in the Vette plant. Closet thing I have now is a ZR1 motor in my Caddy.
Vettes are great and the best bang for the buck in the world. A Vete was the mule for the Viper.
Yep. Been here since day1 . Something to be said for the single forum. Miss some of the old guys and REALLY tire of the acrimony that seeps in. Way too much griping about VCA and pissy posts against each other.
I will never understand why the simplest thread here can end up in pot shots.
We can agree or disagree whether a dealer should do a final once over on a Viper (although I guess they do need to fuel it) but I seriously doubt Mark or my Viper tech, having ridden in hundreds of Vipers and other...
I have had Corsas on Vipers, Vettes and Caddies--likely as many as 10. Never had a Borla. (unless it was OE on some car and I did not know). I recently got the Belanger cat back on my 2010 and am still getting used to it. It is OK, but not as loud as I would like.
The problem may be me and not...
Got the Belanger cat back for my 10. I guess I am getting older and losing my hearing but it is still not quite loud enough for me (though a nice exhaust)
Thinking of Doing HF cats to increase sound but worried about throwing code. Anyone out there with a 2010 and HF cats? any problems?
I put 50,000 on my first Viper 17 years ago and it drove like new when sold. These cars are simple, without a lot of nonsense that can go wrong. Knock on wood all 7 of mine have been pretty much the same in terms of reliability. Now, of course you always need to make sure the 28K were not all in...
Not sure how long paint should cure but I would not rush it. You might email 3M and ask. It will absolutely show more on a black car. I have a black CTS-V and have it going up hood and you can spot it easily whereas on my Escalade you hardly notice it. Still worth it IMO.
I have ventureshield on all my cars. Actually I think it is owned by 3M. Would not own a car without it. All of them yellow and peel if you own the car long enough. It is true proper installation is key. One car could take several hours to do right. I have seen plenty done poorly.
I would agree with Brian. As mentioned above on my DD, I had to use a porta cable with Griot glass pads and glass polish--all the elbow grease in the world was not going to do the trick.
Now on weekend cars it may be different. BTW, Brian I may still need you to look at the scratches on my V hood.
