They are priced similarly, the gold wheels would go (well be stored), I probably would look for a set of 18 stockers or some ccw sp600s later on down the line. Both of the cars have headers and exhaust.
The HRE wheels on the other viper are classic 5 split spoke design, 18s all around, polished...
Both look very well taken care of, paint looks flawless on both, interiors look new, I would say the condition between the two is very comparable, excellent for both
If you had a choice between a:
1997 1 of 7 gold package red viper GTS with 15k miles (headers and exhaust, stock gold wheels still on original tires, so will need new tires...possibly new rims just so I could save the original wheels/tires)
or
1997 red viper GTS with 25k miles (headers...
If they want your car, they will get it. I rather not mess with factory wiring and I used to always have aftermarket alarms. Plus I honestly don't think thieves target vipers, they go for cars they can easily dispose.
There is an copper orange viper around south beach that must be close to that mileage or at least looks like it, the paint on the car is completely faded, the headlights are yellow, the whole thing looks beat up...I seriously want to rescue the car.
How do I access this motor? Mine is making a noise so it needs to be replaced. Do I need to remove any panels or just somehow get my body under the passanger side of the dash and unscrew?
Mine is out of warranty, I will see what I can find this weekend, otherwise I guess I will order a new one, the noise isn't loud, I had to turn down the radio to hear it but still there are already enough rattles in this car, don't need another one...haha
My AC is making a noise as if there is something loose in the vents, sounds like a piece of paper somewhere in the vents, the noise gets louder when you turn up the fan and goes away completely when you turn off the fan. It almost sounds like something got dislodged when I hit a bump driving...
Steve, still waiting on my wrench and screws for the coilovers, have emailed you multiple times with no reply, please respond to my emails.
Thanks,
Krystian
well if it would just squeak on occasion then I would understand but it's relatively loud and happens pretty much the whole time I drive, I haven't even attempted to fix it, I will try to see what is up this weekend
I hear it when the top is up, it comes from the driver side, feels like its behind the hoop. It's triggered when I am going over bumps, uneven surfaces, etc.
Ever since I bought my car, there is a squeak that comes from the top, it is right behind me. I have no clue how to fix it as the rear "wall" with the hoops sits so high. I don't see a way to access the frame to perhaps tighten it or put some grease on it, anyone have any idea how to get access...
That is a beautiful car, I actually almost bought that viper back in March, was already checking on plane tickets to colorado to check it out, ended up pulling the trigger on a silver paxton viper a little closer to me....good luck with it!
I have an 03 Paxton Supercharged Viper with a comp coupe oil pan, any idea how many quarts of oil my car requires? Want to do an oil change this coming weekend.
Took the wheels off and did not see anything out of the ordinary. It is strange because the noise does not happen right when I start driving but approximately a couple minutes in and then it does not go away except for when I put some pressure on the brake pedal. Maybe Doug Levin can help me...
