Jon B is a good guy. Has helped me out alot. But like everyone, Im sure he has his bad days and sometimes he might not have time to spend 30 minutes on phone with you. Like all business's there are good and bad transactions and sometimes Sh!t happens.
With that said Kurtis is a great guy...
Id order up a whole new exchange rear end. Your stock posi is going to break if you drive hard. Get a Quaife and a gear change. For about 3k, you can have a whole new assembly and swap out rear ends. You'll have a better rear end, a better posi that works and you wont break it.
Call Jon at...
Heres one run, where it spins up in 4th. I remeber it hapening and thinking it was strange. Its funny as you can actually hear the exhaust change in video as it spins.
Best I could get was 11.3 @ 129mph with a 1.91 60 ft. This was in 90 degree heat.
I was on my 19/20 set up with PS2's.
It was still fun, but I know the car has more. I drove 2 hours from San Jose, let car sit about 30 minutes then started running. It never really had a chance to cool as it...
I use my streetbike helmet. I used to have $600 helmets. Now I just bring a $100 helmet I picked up at motorcycle shop. That way if I lose it, drop it, etc, Im not pissed. But it gets me thru tech.
And usually you'll run and it might be 10 minutes before your next run to 30 minutes or more...
You really are a douche. Next you will want to know the torque settings for your valve stem caps...... Wait, you already asked me that one before.
Just tighten them, its a feeling, use the force. And pray the force is with you this weekend at the track. :hitfan:
They are pretty leniant on grudge night and test n tune. Since its not a actual event like bracket racing or a race series. But there are still basic requirments, like a helmet, basic safety of car, good tires, no leaks. They really dont hammer you until you run a 10 second pass. Then they...
I saw a thread on Vette forum. "Pay it forward". Really a cool idea. How many of us have stuff that didnt fit, we dont need anymore etc. Just collects dust instead of going to a good home. So guys started posting stuff they had and did not need and were not worried about money. Only rule was to...
Same thing on my 05, tons of metal chunks. Supposedly it is the posi unit, it is the weak link. So I went with a quaife, because I knew it would happen again the way I drive.
I think your correct. I have 3:33's and also a tall 20" rear tire. My speedo is dead on wth my garmin GPS.
As far as the car for sale, for me, Id pay 65-70k depending on how prisitne it is. There are 2 new 06's still sitting at dealer for 65k by my house. Brand new, but stock. Since this car...
Steve, we should do another video, but not in a shop like last time. Lets get out on freeway some night , when its dark, would make for some good footage. Get Smoq to come too.
I have not ran at track since adding Paxton and quaife. So its all experimental to me. But from what I feel on the street and in the hills the quaife feels great. More predictable. Im liking it. Sorry, not much advice to give. Ill know more after saturday.
I never got a thump or any clunking from my rear end. I did start to have a higher pitch whine from it. But the way we found a problem was by drianing the fluid in rear end. I had tons of metal chunks come out. Posi was basically dead, Id leave one leggers most of the time. So I ordered a quaife...
Run lower air pressure in rear. If you can pull a 1.8 60 ft, which is possible, you should get high 10's. I wouldnt worry much about 0-60. A supercharged Viper with tons of torque really isnt about 0-60mph. You'll make most of your time the last half of the track. Good luck, Ill be there next...
Jon 2002 ACR ran a 10.90 on Dr's with a Paxton, otherwise stock car.
He now has quite a few mods and him and I are going to Sac raceway next Saturday the 14th to run them. As long as track is prepped decent, we should hit some 10's. He will be on 18" Dr's again, Ill be on 19/20" PS2 tires...
How light are the CCW's?
I always thought the SSR's were lightest wheel. Then I weighed my buddies 18" SSR's with PS2's mounted up. They actually weighed a pound or two more then my 18" and 19" Sidewinders mounted with PS2's. I should have never got rid of them, they would have been great...
I run 19/20 setup with 275/30 up front and 335/30 PS2 in rear.
The rear tire hooks weel even with Paxton. My buddy just sitched to the smaller profile 345/25/20 Pirelli and now he spins up on freeway. The PS2 definatley hooks up better.
Im not at home, so I dont have access to my pics, but...
Jon b usually beats tireracks pricing. Tire rack sell for what is on their website, no other price discount, I bet Parts Rack will beat it.
I like the PS2's , especaill in 19/20 with a supercharger. The rear PS2 is a little taller so it hooks well. But the Pirellis are nice too and look good...
