Fat chance on the Viper winning it all. Lots of corvette classes but only 3 Viper classes. Bone stock, bolt on stuff, and unlimited. Even an 8 second run from Sir Hiss would not cut it in an unlimited class with F-bodies. It would be a gamble that no tube chassis, 640 CI, nitrous Pro Mod...
Dan,
I let off as soon as I hit 160. Driving that fast at night is not my favorite thing to do. We went from a 3rd gear punch at ~3000 rpm. I tried to start in 2nd gear but red line came up too fast and I got mucho tire spin.
Peter is one brave man and he is used to those speeds. Texas Supra...
What can I say? That was a great couple of runs (at a closed test track in Mexico). I like the first one better though and very pleased to hang with John that close. Ask the members of the chase team how much space we put between them. These runs were ~1 minute apart and my bottle pressure...

Guys,
I believe that I-10 has enough lanes for all of us!
NORM - THANKS FOR SPELLING MY NAME RIGHT!
John - I have only seen the smiley face I wanted to use for you on the www.suicide-kings.com forum ! Seriously though, get P. Daddy to coordinate lunch Friday.
I know it's a truck motor but this guy has found a way to make it go fast. I think he uses 2 five cylinder (Saab) distributors. This motor is for sale at racer-net for $14000.
Anyone know this guy? Looks pretty cool.
Tom,
What took you so long to join in? I only know about the Crowers and they seem to be a poor choice. I heard the stories about these rockers failing but had never seen or known anyone that it happened to. Now I know someone!
I think mine was a lifter failure. Either way you don't risk dropping a valve into your motor with this kind of failure (lifter or poor adjustment) if you have shaft mounted rockers. I bet there aren't any available for the Magnum V-10 though. I'm just going to fix it and cross my fingers.
This is what the Crower roller rocker can do that a shaft mounted rocker can't. I noticed a loud tick from the V-10 in my truck and it was running a little rough, too. This is what I found. I am one lucky SOB that I didn't drop a valve. The truck V-10 has a 4500 rpm red line.

SNKBYT,
I still use the 3.07 and stock flywheel. I believe every other 9 second Viper (only 3 others remain?) has an aluminum flywheel and 3.45 gears. I've got the flywheel and the gear but they are still in the garage. I'll see if they make any difference some day.
Excuse me while I thank a few people.
Prashant - Super event as always. Who was the tall blonde with curly hair? WOW!
Roy, Joe, and Nick at TNT - That is one hell of a beast you put together for me.
Albert, Doug, and nearly every Viper and Vette driver at RCR - Thanks for the congrats.
Sam...
Hey Doug. I read Prashants message completely different than you did. I think he truely wishes ya'll were here to race. As for the Saturday night stories.................they are all lies! Don't believe them! Right guys?
