Unfortunately, for SOLO and other reasons i need to stay with the same rim sizes/dimensions as stock, so it's 18 x 10 front and 19 x 13 for me. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like the Kumhos or the Toyo R triple 8 are available in the right sizes.

Agreed; unless you kept the hose a fairly low trickle those 2003-2006 vent baffles would not really keep the water out. My guess is that they were designed more for driving in the rain than car washing.

I actually had the Viper cleabra'ed in case I started using DOT-R compound tires but you have given sage advice as always. I actually called Luke at Tirerack and he had the same advice about just buying another set of PS2s, especially given my geographic location.

Austin or any other photoshop dieties out there, is there any way you can change the Sidewinder rims in this pic to white:
I saw Nineball's white rims a while back and am thinking of painting an additional set of Sidewinders white for track use only.
I know it's hard to do white in p-shop...
I have a 2008 convertible with autoform rollbar and 6-point harnesses that I use/will use for about 4-8 driving schools and 6-8 autocrosses per season (early Spring to late fall here in Oregon/Washington).
I currently have a set of lightweight Sidewinders rims with the stock Michelin Pilot...
Yes, the 2008s have the same baffle for the intake scoop. I though the previouys post was asking about baffles around the hood vents. The 2003-2006s had a system of channels around the hood vents which would prevent some of the water from spilling onto the engine. The 2008s do not have this...
I think your assessment is spot on. I have an 08 with the Belanger system and could not be happier. The other benefits such as a roughly 19 lb weight reduction and cooler operating temps make this mod a "must-have" in my book.
I also agree with the service and response from Jon at...
No baffles like on the 2003-2006s; water gets in there pretty well but so far the engine does not seem worse for wear. I just use the water in the engine bay as an excuse to wipe down all the surfaces which has kept the engine bay looking a lot cleaner than my other cars.

Welcome to the site and congrats on a very clean looking car.

FYI, this is a pic of the RB-1 Nav/Sirius unit that the above post mentioned:
Chrysler makes an iPod adapter kit which is compatible with the RB-1.

Ditto on the above posts: My understanding is that more pronounced and forward-positioned vents were done to improve venting of underhood heat and to create slightly higher frontal downforce.

I strongly concur with Jon B's advice about finding a good, customer-friendly dealership with qualified Viper techs. My local dealership is one of those dealerships and has made a huge difference in the ownership of my 2008. Bottom line, if you find a good dealership, hold on to it and develop...
It's Sunday so I would suggest just getting on the TireRack website:
Tire Rack - Your performance experts for tires and wheels
From there, you can search for tires by vehicle or by the above tire sizes. The website will then give you the price for the tires plus shipping. Pay by credit card...
Northwind still makes their 2 inch kit as far as I am aware; the only issue is that there is some concern that this kit is not compatible with the 08s new airbag and related hardware.
Also, there is a stereo amp underneath the passenger seat that may also conflict with the install of the 2...
I also have a 2008 with NAV/RB-1. It is the same unit I mentioned above and again, unless you add a disc changer, your only option is to either listen to a music cd or remove it, insert the Navtech data DVD and use the NAV system. (You can of course use the radio and the Sirius radio with the...
If you have a 2006 with the factory RB-1 Nav/Sirius option installed, the RB-1 just has capacity for one Nav DVD or one music CD (unless you have installed a Chrysler 6-disc changer in the trunk or some alternate location).
I had the majority of my ventureshield applied by a professional (hood, front fascia, side sills, rear bumper.) I also added some additional ventureshield behind the rear wheels. Let's just say that the difference between my install and that of the professional is noticeable (mine had a a lot...
