I just ran with the Seattle Corvette Marque Club up at Pacific Raceways last week and that was also a lot of fun. Good folks, cool cars and a well run event. A lot of the folks at that event had great things to say about the Rose City event, from how well it was run to the food etc...
I have a set on my 2008 and weighed them before they were mounted with tires, TMPS sensors etc. I have seen other weight listings of 18 lb front and 25 lb rear but I believe my figures are pretty accurate.
Guys --
Thanks for all of the helpful feedback. Seems like there's more than one way to skin this cat but to err on the side of caution I think I'll just swap cars on the lift and get the Viper on the ground to do this a little more safely.

Agree with the posts above. I have a 2008 and had a 2006 and my sense is that the Gen III and IV are actually quite forgiving and even neutral in a track environment. On the street, as long as you treat the car respectfully and don't drive in a ham fisted way (which it sounds like you don't)...
These rims were new for 2009; they weigh about the same as the ACR/Sidewinder rims which is roughly an 8 lb per wheel saving over the old 2003-2006 10-spoke rims and the standard 5-spoke rim.
I would try Jon B at Parts Rack to see if he has any available.

I need to remove my 2 front rims and tires to mount and balance new tires. What is the best way to raise and support (for at least 3-4 days) the front of the car while the new tires are being mounted? The catch is that I need to raise, remove and keep the car supported while on a four post...
Spoke to Jon yesterday; he's around but quite busy helping to run our local historic race event at Portland International Raceway this weekend. I believe he said he will be back in the office this Monday (July 13). If you call his number ((360) 837-3937) he may be able to get back to you...
Just completed an HPDE at Pacific Raceways today with the Brakeman 3s all around. Fantastic and consistent stopping power all day with no fade whatsoever. I also have the Stoptech 2piece rotors.

Jon B at Partsrack recommended Brakeman 3 all around as being a good track pad that offers more bite while at the same time being a little more rotor friendly and useable in wet weather conditions. Justr had them installed on my 08. I have also heard people recommend Mintex up front and stock...
FYI, Luke and the folks at Tire Rack just tested the Kumho XS along with other extreme performance tires:
you can find the write and results using this:

My sidewinders are also stamoed Japan. I believe the company that manufactures these rims is based in Japan and has a name that starts with T, something like Tanasia? Tenasia?
I contacted Luke at Tire Rack and he said the PS2s can in fact be rotated side to side (unbolt left front rim and tire and swap with right front rim and tire, same for rears). Because the tires have an "inside" and "outside" labeled on the sidewall, however, you cannot safely remove the tire...
Anal? No. Extremely anal? Yes, guilty as charged. I believe the PS2s have an "inside" and "outside" so I am not sure that I can safely flip them on the rim. Sounds like I can take my floor jack and flip them myself. I am also considering having a mild street/track alignment done to address...
After a series of driving schools I am seeing increased wear on the outside edge (where the sidewall meets the tread) of the driver side front tire (from driving primarily clockwise road courses). Question: Because the PS2s on my 2008 are nondirectional, I assume that I can rotate the tires...
My car did not come with an RB1 Nav manual and I am wondering if there is a way in Navigation mode after you have typed in a destination to see your estimated arrival time. In other Navteq-based GPS systems (BMW, Honda) I have this feature but it does not appear on my Viper's Nav screen...
Update: Ordered front and rear Brakeman 3 pads from Jon B on Wednesday and received them next day (Thanks again Jon). Even though Jon estimated my front pads at 60% that was two driving schools ago so it's time to install the new pads.
In terms of install and use of the Brakeman pads, I...
Ordered new brake pads for my 2008 Viper yesterday and they arrived today with a free gift to boot; great customer service as usual from Jon B at Part Rack. Thanks Jon.

I was informed during the technical inspection before a driving school that the pads on my 2008 Viper were at about 40%, that the pads would last the driving school but should probably be replaced afterwards. I did a visual check and there seems to be pad material left (about 5-6 mms) but I...
They did a great article comparing floor coverings in the most recent issue of Grassroots Motorsports. They weighed epoxy, polished concrete, racedeck tiles anf others but decided on epoxy for their application.
