Question for those who already have some real world experience with the new Kumhos: If one could have two sets of stock sized Viper rims, Set A for pure street driving and wet/cold track days and Set B for warmer weather dry track days, which would be better all around for wheel set Set A for...

If you follow the link to C&D's online version of the article (posted further above), the artciel has links to downloadable test and data sheets from the comparison. One set of the files is the actual handwritten test data taken by the C&D test drivers during testing and the 0-150...
The voice over just details the time limitations, adjustment issues and falling lap times throughout their half day at the Ring. If you read the most recent Viper magazine article on the Ring record, you'll have the same (if not more) information. Ausgezeichnet!
When comparing the Gen IV against the Z06 (about a year ago?), the non-ACR Viper coupe had a 70-0 braking distance of 150 ft compared to the Z06's distance of 149 ft.
This is a great question; I never received any sort of manual for the NAV unit or radio in my 2008 and the owners manual has minimal information. A while back someone thought they would release a separate manual and I wonder if there are still plans for that. Overall, I think I have figured...
My 2008 in stock form yielded about 529 rwhp and 505 rwft-lbs torque on a Mustang dyno which depending on the correction factor was about 601-620 hp. Back when the Gen IV cars were being introduced, I believe some of the VCA officers observed an engine, not a chassis dyno, of the new 600 hp...
Ventureshield here as well on the side sills. No issues with heat or yellowing although if you really scratch it with your heel or shoe it will make a scuff mark in the Ventureshield. Better than doing it on the paint I suppose.
I have a Gen IV GTS Blue Viper and ordered a set from the Northern California Viper Club. Here's some pics:
The mats are very high quality, thick and are made to order with specific logos (sneaky pete, modern Viper logo, SRT-10 etc) and custom colors to match exterior colors (GTS...
I ran the stock PS2s on my 2008 Viper in a full season of driving/track schools (roughy 6 events this past summer). Per Mark Jorgensen's recommendation I ran the tires 33 psi cold at all four wheels and this workd really well at the track. Hot tire pressures after each 20-30 minute session was...
I had my dealer's tech install the rollbar and my understanding is that it bolts to the frame; no welding is involved.
I believe the Autoform rollbar is SCCA compliant as a rollbar, not a four-point rollcage. Also, the rollbar does not meet NHRA requirements for rollover protection.
Again, reinforcing this, the rollbar does not intrude in any way into the cabin. While I ever measured the fore and aft adjustability before and after install of the rollbar, it doesn't seem like the range of fore and aft adjustability has been impacted in any way.
Looking at the picture of the "old version" of the Autoform rollbar with the cross brace above the panel made me wonder if they still make this. The disadvantage is that I believe the cross brace cuts right across the rear window area, reducing rear visibility. On the other hand, it might make...
Ditto on what Gr8Asp said. The Autoform panel is of the same quality and texture as the OEM panel. It is shaped slightly differently at the top to accommodate the shape of the rollbar but that it really the extent of the difference.
The Autoform rollbar does not interfere with ingress and egress of the car. This is the best open door pic I could find but essentially the rollbar disappears under the panel and is not otherwise visible from within the car. There is no exposed tubing inside the cockpit. Also, my...

Yes, the cross member now goes under the panel. I like the look of the rollbar and it does not interfere with the opening/closing of the convertible top or any other aspect of the top mechanism or boot cover.
