I use the Motive Bleeder and find it a lot easier than speedbleeders or doing the two man method. With the Motive you can watch the fluid come out to see if there is debris or air. Also you don't have to walk back and forth to pump the brakes (at least 8 trips with speed bleeders). I would...
I am with Randy on this one. I drive mine every chance I get. Grocery store, work, hardware store, auto parts store. Loved driving it to the Chevy dealership today to pick up a part for my truck! In fact, sometimes I think I must be a bit crazy but on the way home from work I try to hit the red...
Just smoged my 97 GTS for the first time with R/T ceramic cats. Last smog in 2/02 was before I installed them. Both times with VEC 1 set at 0/0.

Not saying anything, just what the skip shift does. I believe the Viper has enough torque to tolerate it without problem. I honestly have only had it kick in twice in the last 3 1/2 years. Haven't noticed any problems...
The skip shift directs the intended 1-2 shift into a 1-4 shift when the shift occurs at low speed. It is intended to improve gas mileage and probably reduces the gas guzzler tax we pay.
Per the shop manual, the skip shift is active when: engine coolant exceeds 106 F, RPMs >600, in first gear...
GTS Bruce is right. You will never notice it. And if you are in a race and shifting at 1800 rpm, you will lose regardless of whether you have a skip shift disablier or not!
Around her there are thousands of Porsches but it is always easy to tell the turbos from the non turbos. The turbos are always driven by blue haired guys in their 60's!
Nothing could replace it but for a stable mate: Diablo or Countach. Maybe a Ferrari Testarossa or 512. Don't like the new little racer models. Never a Porsche! Probably will end up with a Daytona Coupe kit (which would be a lot of fun to build) or a Lotus Elise for something totally different...
I did mine 14 months and 5000 miles ago and it looks as good as new. Masking is key and taking your time. I did mine with standard spray paint spraying a white background first, then using a brush to paint the raised portions. I did this by spraying the paint into a small tray and painting from...
NADA and blue books are very inaccurate for Vipers and other limited production cars. Don't use these to negotiate with a knowledgeable seller unless you like being laughed at!
Re: Inconel Header Shield\'s and Side sill\'s
Edelbrock makes a set out of ceramic coated stainless steel for 250$ at Summit:
Dodge Viper Heat Shields
Designed for all 1992-00 Dodge Vipers using Edelbrock Tubular Exhaust System headers, these heat shields deflect heat away from under hood...
I do have the Stoptech Front 13" setup with rear SS lines and rear slotted rotors. Works great. It has given me much mor confidence in braking. With the stock setup I would lock up the fronts far to easily, particularly in panic situations. It was hard to find the threshold braking point. I...
Do you have info on the Stoptech 4 wheel setup? Seems small but what a difference going from 16 to 18% rear bias makes!! The Stoptech fronts make a huge improvement.
I wonder where they get their 5 year depreciation information for the Mini which has only been out for 2-3 years? Typical Edmunds, I have never seen anything of value from them regarding autos....
Regarding the Viper, remember the statistics are for 5 years and 75,000 miles. The statistic is...
