This concept had the srt-4 motor, rear drive, and only weighed slightly over 2000 lbs. Price is $14,000 - $18,000. Can you imagine installing a factory bought stage 3 motor upgrade? That would probably put the HP around 350 HP or (300 RWHP) in a 2000+ pound car, for UNDER $20,000. With a full fac. War.

I would buy it in a heartbeat.

But, am i wrong in thinking the production version ( if it makes it that far ) would be priced between 14 - 18 ? I have seen TONS of concepts, as well all have, jump in price from concept to showroom floor.

If they make them, I'd say that the actual, buy one off the lot, price would be something like the PT Cruiser.
Probably have to pay a premium at first. After everyone had one, they would start getting cheaper.

Will NOT be made. I asked this very question on my last trip to Detroit and was told the plan had been nixed. Sorry to bring the bad news.

Right now they seem to be looking at the Sling Shot as something that might make it to market, but it is more focused on cool looks with great gas milage (about 50 MPG).

Yep, that's BAD news.

DC really needs to incorporate the SRT-4 engine in a rear-drive/light weight platform. The Razor was perfect, and the price point was even better. Too bad.

I think that once they saw a $18,000 car beating the crap out of their $35,000 better looking Chrysler version, that someone said no way!

Yeah, but it would beat it in performance only... This was a bare bones, no frills, driver's car. Roll up windows, no radio, no A/C, stick only (if memory serves), no options, thrill ride. Why not produce it? I assume you are refering to the Crossfire at $35,000. I don't think these two cars would compete for the same audience. BMW's M3 will outperform any 7 series, but the 7 series is far more expensive.

Bare and bad to the bones like you stated. And I agree 100% that these are 2 very different crowds, but I still think that someone brought up the comparison and that caused the "no" reaction.
