    Cooling Problem, help ?

    I have had a cracked thermostat housing (twice!) that has cased me to lose fluid. Don't know if the housing is the same (in my opinion crappy) design on the Gen II as Gen I.

    Powder Coating in San Jose/Bay Area

    They have them off (under warranty) so I figured I'd get them done in black..... since the red on the valve covers has been flaking off since I bought the car. Hopefully this sticks a bit better than the factory coating. If it doesn't, black will probably look worse than red did! PS: Poser parts...

    speeding ticket coming back from Yankee Stadium

    I went to www.ticketassassin.com and followed their instructions of fighting a ticket by mail "Trail by Written Declaration". Cost $25 (I believe) to sign up for the web site, and it's probably information that is available free somewhere, but it worked! That makes it worth the money for me...

    That is so you can dry between the decklid and the rear bumper without opening the decklid, and between the rear fenders and the bumper. :D

    Has your seat leather been replaced?

    My stock leather was in pretty poor shape after 30k miles. Venzano does beautiful work, but it is not inexpensive! I am very happy with my SnakeHydes interior. Relatively inexpensive, and VERY nice leather.

    That is a GREAT deal. You So CA folks are lucky to have a shop like Dan's available. Had my car dyno'd in No CA, and it was $85 for 2 pulls, without A/F measurement (and of course, no lunch!)

    What kind of gears do you guys have or reccomend?

    3.73 on a car that had 3.07 would be very similar (% of change) to putting 4.10 on a car w/ 3.42. I am quite happy with 3.54, but there are others on this board that have gone 3.73 and are happy with them.

    Sean Roe did a before and after dyno, and said that the dyno reads (something like) 15HP lower w/ the 3.54 gear. This does not mean you lose horsepower, just that the dynojet dyno reads it differently.

    What battery is best?

    I have had an Optima in my car for ~ 5 years. No problem! Also, a bettery tender for cars you don't drive often will prolong battery life.

    I bought a rear end complete w/ 3.54 gears from Dan Cragin (www.dcperformance.com). The rear end was built by Unitrax. Their gear sets and rear ends are very well thought of. Sold my stock rear end for about what I bought the complete one w/ the new gears for. Not that difficult to swap rear...

    I would buy one that someone else already did the mods to, but that was well maintained. Probably could save enough doing it that way to buy a nice "bad weather car".
