    ECM upgrade question?

BENEFITS OF HAVING YOUR ECM REPROGRAMMED AFTER ALL YOUR MODS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED This DC Performance ECM Upgrade is a plug and play mod. We had a custom program made for our highly modified test mule ( Viper ), and put it in a new ECM so we could retain the old one for EMISSION TESTING and...

What % of Vipers have over 10k miles on them?

I could not agree any more. You buy a Viper to drive it. My 2003 has just shy of 30,000 miles on it, all trouble free. I had it out last weekend when it was 38 degrees out and had a blast. I bought it to sit in and drive it, not to sit in it in a garage and make believe. Vipers were never meant...

    storage & flat spots

As said above I also have had no problem with radial tires and flat spots. In the Nascar Modifieds we always jacked the car up between races so as to eliminate any flat spots on the tires but that was because we were running Bias belted tires and not radials.

    How do you..........

Once you are inside the car put the key in the ignition and turn it to the ON POSITION only and wait until everything recycles. then turn it off and then restart as normal. My 2003 car battery and key fob battery are still the original ones.

    Oxygen Sensor/Exhaust Install HELP!

Chipster, One should never use an open end or box wrench on an O2 Sensor. Any parts store can order you a 3/8" drive deep socket that is made for removing and reinstalling O2 Sensors. The socket has a 1/4" slot down the side of it so the wires can fit in the socket and it has a hex on top so...

    Thermostat install?

Guys, There is no need to remove the intake manifold. We have done a ton of these as described below. This is a very easy install and the only thing you need to remove is the air box assembly as a complete unit. You remove the 2 fasteners on the front lip of the lower air box, remove the...

    UAW strikes Chrysler

I was talking to a friend of mine who owns a Dodge dealership that is viper certified last Monday and he told me the viper is being built thru 2009 and then being replaced by a smaller sports car called the Demon. When I got home last night and picked up the new copy of Auto Week's Buyer's Guide...

8500 mile road trip around the USA

I am leaving this morning for upper Maine with my viper to pick up a new Miata hardtop to use on a daily basics. Ella and I use the viper all the time and never worry about rain though I would not drive the RT10 or GTS cars in the rain as they will rust out the side sills.

8500 mile road trip around the USA

:drive: My dad, Ella, and I have just returned from a 8500 mile road trip around the country that was unbelievable! It took us 5 weeks to complete and I have to tell you viper guys who live out west that you are the luckiest viper owners on earth. You have the greatest roads and weather...

BEWARE of Those Random Tech Cats

You guys just hit the nail on the head. We should not have to reinvent the wheel just because RT made these cats wrong. I called them and got nowhere ether. The problem is that there are no other choice that I know of out there where you can buy just the cats. WE should get Jon B. to put...

    Heat Insulation for exhaust

I have to agree with Chuck here as there has never been an issue with the Roe blankets that I have ever seen. We have not had any problems with out exhaust insulation catching fire ether. See our site for more information...

    maintanance

ViperJim, If it was me I would change the plugs to Autolite XP985's and change all the fluids including the brake fluid, trans and diff lube, and the engine oil and filter. I would also change the antifreeze. The plug wire should be ok as I have 20,000 miles on a factory set.

    Hand Held Programmers

Guys, I ran the 180 thermostat before I installed the DC tune and it ran ok. the temp went up to 200 before the fan came o when the car was idling but on the highway it ran around 185. It did no harm to the thermostat. Then I installed the DC tune and everything was perfect. So I would say you...

    Problems with Random Tech Cats

Go for it Joseph! Remember you will need to have a C.A.R.B. approval. One should not have to install comp motor and tranny mounts so that the RT cats won't tear a hole in themselves. They know they have a problem and have done nothing to correct their defectively engineered product. A side note...

    1/4" Rivet Gun

AUVECO also sell them at auveco.com. You can do what Hurst does and use what is called a mushroom head 1/4 x 1" nylon nail in masonry anchor to reinstall the boot. Funny that SVS does not include the rivets or anchors as we do and Mopar-Hurst does.

    Welder Recommendations?

Welders and cheap are 2 words that do not go together. As far as I am concerned Miller is the best with Lincoln in second place. Stay away from the 110 volt units as they are not suitable for frame welding.

    alarm trouble

The hood switch is most likely the culprit as mentioned above. Most likely it is not defective but has come loose in its bracket. It tends to wobble around. Once you push it back into its bracket try holding it in place with a tie wrap under the bracket.

What is that noise coming from my viper?

I would call Branhaven in Branford, 203-488-9460, and ask for Erik. As to speak to his viper tech. I had a great experience there when I brought in my 2003 for the headlight recall. They allowed me to stay with the car in the shop and even did a few other tweaks for free when asked. I was in...

Dan, As stated before I am very interested in this unit. As you may remember we talked about knocking accruing on my 2003 after Connecticut switched over th E10 Fuel. I had told you that all the different octane boosters I tried did not solve the problem and you said that you would need to...
