1) Buy it either direct from SCT or from an authorized dealer.
2) The 9550 is correct flash tool.
3) I "heard" you can scale values to use a 3-bar sensor. Haven't confirmed
I just went down this road on my '96 GTS. It was killing a battery every 4-5 days. When I heard that "clicking" sound underneath the cowl area, the battery had been drained down to 6 volts! Putting it on a "battery tender" wasn't acceptable to me because a car is not supposed to kill...
I bought mine and it had 4.11's in it! I thought it would be the first thing I would change, but I've actually come to enjoy the drivability of the car.
Congrats on a great looking GTS! :2tu:
What was the other problem before? The EEM (Electronic Entry Module) runs off the IOD fuse circuit...It's a 30-amp green fuse under the hood. Have you checked it?
There is also a smaller micro fuse underhood labeled "door assmebly" (I think fuse #5). That circuit is also involved with the...
LOL...The humidity isn't that bad. :D
Barber Motorsports park hosts several events, from SCCA to the GIANT Mustang Club of America meets. An added bonus is there are plenty of hotels, a NEW outlet mall and a Bass Pro Shops all nearby.
Other added benefits are Talladega Superspeedway is...
Can't confirm the whole column, but when my local dealer didn't have a '96 Viper ignition switch on the shelf, I decided to try a '93 Dodge Dynasty part instead because it was in stock.
Here's the viper part (closest one with black plastic cover and "pentastar" logo) compared to the Dynasty...
The rear outer piece, running vertically against the glass is called the "rear-run channel." I found that out while searching for one myself.
Not sure if that's what you're also looking for, but if anyone knows of one, let me know... driver's side. :2tu:
Had a '99 RT10 with non-functional outer and inner handles. It was a frayed wire within the harness between the door and body.
Cut it, soldered a patch in it, and heat-shrinked it. Fixed.
'92-'02 have crank sensor on the side of block.
'03 & '04 have the sensor in rear (reads off flywheel trigger)
'05 + have the sensor on the side of block again.
Not always true, but yes...it's good practice.
I've accidentally run an Optima down to totally dead a few times by leaving headlights on all day (daily driver).
Jumped it off each time and it recharged to 12.8... sans trickle charger. It's been in the car 5 years.
This certainly seems to be the consensus.
I am chasing down an excessive current draw on mine right now to hopefully find the reason these cars don't keep batteries well. :(
Well, considering mine's a B/W like in the banner, I wouldn't call it a "jab."
I mean, let's face it: They are known for drawing a small current, which YES, is especially noticable when parked for a long period of time.
Re: New issue popped up on new toy. Heat don't blow through the center vents, smell f
Yes.
It doesn't take much gasoline to really make an odor, so although you may not find drops or puddles, there is some fuel getting by somewhere. Check the hookups to the lines, the lines themselves...
Your 114º is the "Lobe Separation Angle," right? I don't think the 112º intake centerline will be less gutsy than a 110º intake centerline, especially considering it's a big V10. If it were a smaller motor going to 8000-9000RPM, I might consider the hassle for an extra 2º.
I can see some resemblance of newer vettes to the Gen III+, but certainly none with the Gen I or II.
I think some of the comments directed at Viper drivers are just out of jealousy. If they really didn't know what it was, they could simply ask or say "nice car." :smirk:
