    Ralph wants/needs an automatic

Average age of Corvette buyer is 63 or something I read on the Corvette forum. La-Z-Boy has been contracted to design a lift/recliner for 2015 C7 (Z/SE-zoomer/senior edition), and it will likely use the new 8L90 auto discussed here :)

    Ralph wants/needs an automatic

Doubt he wants one, but surely knows sales would benefit if he had one. Kind of goes against everything the Viper has stood for in the past, and while they have offered more tech features to keep pace with the times, offering an auto really isn't tech, nor a feature that enhances the elemental...

Owner feedback...seat support and comfort after break-in

I know there was criticism of seat comfort in a GTS comparison with the ZR1 way back, and later read that SRT was addressing that. I also recall a member saying that after he got some seat time in it that the seat broke in and became more comfortable. Seat comfort is always going to be highly...

    Told ya...

I could list a dozen reasons that don't have anything to do with the performance of the car or its competition. They've all been rehashed ad nauseam in threads like this. Those considering a Viper for the first time naturally seek information on forums, and this is the kind of discussion they...

Why I’ve chosen the Gen V…a cross-shopper’s perspective

Thanks guys, and most of you are among those who have provided the truly useful feedback that has drowned out all the "noise". It must have seemed like such an up-hill battle for so long, and questioned if it was worth all the aggravation and effort, but I hope you'll feel it was to help other...

Why I’ve chosen the Gen V…a cross-shopper’s perspective

I’m not sure how I became aware that there was a new Viper, but ever since I’ve been strangely drawn to it. I wasn’t looking to buy another car, and I definitely don’t need another high performance sports car as I already have three collectibles that I love and rarely drive. I’ve enjoyed track...

1 of 1 2013 Viper - Someone needs to buy this!!

From Wiki... "A supercar is a very expensive and fast sports car. Supercars are marketed by automakers as unusual and include limited production specials from an "elite" automaker, standard-looking cars modified for power and performance, as well as models that appeal to enthusiasts from...

    Told ya...

Perceptions takes time to catch up to reality as it changes. Most enthusiasts pride themselves on knowing about what's hot and what's not, but many won't know much beyond what they read in the first Motor Trend roasting. And these are often the ones talking smack about everything they won't be...

How will the Gen V perform as a collectible that retains value over time?

I've never consciously considered collectability and future values when purchasing a toy, but find it curious that all of mine over the years have become so, and appreciated in value after buying them. I'm curious if there's a formula, and PeerBlock listed a number of interesting criteria. I...

How will the Gen V perform as a collectible that retains value over time?

Can you see a special edition of the Gen V becoming collectible and holding its value once it has depreciated initially?

    Told ya...

I believe that Ralph has indicated that even the initial production SRT and GTS have been further refined since that testing...so they may be still quicker than all of the dated tests indicate.

    Told ya...

The tests using all 3 Viper models are rather meaningless now as a number of refinements have been implemented to production Vipers since. We don't even know if the T/A is quicker or slower that the pre-production model that beat the ZR1 waaay back in March. Maybe all 3 models would beat the...

How will the Gen V perform as a collectible that retains value over time?

I've enjoyed owning quite a few collectibles and each has either retained full value of what I paid for them, or appreciated. They were all purchased used when 5 or more years old after depreciation had worked its magic. We can see that the Gen V will depreciate as well, and perhaps at a...

Plan to order T/A this week...questions about pros/cons of color choices

Aggressively trying to locate availability right now. Expect to have to take whatever's available or wait for 2015 allocation. Will trade in my XKR to make the deal if equitable. Bruce

    Fell in love today, AGAIN

It sounds like you're in love...but I bet you already were before seeing it! Were there other cars on your short list?

Plan to order T/A this week...questions about pros/cons of color choices

They are indeed available in Canada, but in pretty limited quantities. US warranty likely would not be effective in Canada, so I'll definitely buy up here. Bruce

Plan to order T/A this week...questions about pros/cons of color choices

Thanks for your thoughts guys. I'm starting to think you guys rather like the orange! Seems to me they could run out of that first, even though they're making 3 times as many as black and white. I imagine they'll release the T/A in more colors in time. I think billet silver would be terrific...

Plan to order T/A this week...questions about pros/cons of color choices

I'm looking for opinions on the color choices as far as overall desirability and ease of resale when (if?) I want to buy something else. Crusher Orange is the signature color for the T/A. It's used exclusively on the T/A, used for the Laguna Seca record, and used exclusively for promotion ever...

    The Gen V doesn't suck!!!

Excellent suggestion. A search found that you can even order these as a factory option included in the factory build! That's a no-brainer for track rats! I'll have to look into the Hans devices. Thanks

    The Gen V doesn't suck!!!

Well if that's true, he's certainly in good company because there's been an epidemic of that around here :lmao: Geez, I should talk...I've barely slept while waiting and watching for new Viper reviews to come out! Since they have I've been reading a seemingly endless stream of reviews and...

    The Gen V doesn't suck!!!

Hmm...you were disappointed with the Gen IV also when it came out. You even started a thread where you may recall sharing that view... http://forums.viperclub.org/threads/597763-2008-Viper?p=2344541#post2344541 What would they have to do to earn your approval? Bruce

    The Gen V doesn't suck!!!

That sounds like they can do normal and on-going maintenance work maybe, just not warranty work...which may be rare, if ever hopefully!

    The Gen V doesn't suck!!!

The thread seems to be a result of your need to express your "complete performance disappointment" in the car, and let that perhaps help validate not wanting to buy one...I simply question why you feel the need to express it in yet another thread. As one of the prospective buyers that you refer...
