so...did this fall through or what? I'm looking for a cheap 4-post that also has jacks to get the car off its wheels, and I have a compressor, so compressed air is not a problem.
if your's isn't damaged and the problem is the paint, paint it yourself, about 2 hours of work and $20 and your car will look way better than when it was new. I painted mine black and couldn't be happier.
thanks for the feedback, I knew the history because I drove the car with 35psi for a few months until someone made a comment about it. the car is very squirly with pilot sports at 35psi.
I've been running 30 on the street, I'll try 29 all around and see how that feels...
I have genIII size wheels/tires on my GenI (non-run flats), should I really be running 33 front 29 rear? I know the 35psi on the car door is wrong and was told to run 30 front and rear...
thoughts?
when I drove my first VIPER in 2005, it was a yellow 2001 RT/10. it was an awesome car and I had an incredible time putting 400 miles on it. I told my wife, "we have to get one of these." she agreed.
when I drove my car just a few short months later, I new I was a Gen I guy. it was rough...
I haven't heard that from anyone other than guys on this board...its just funny how well some people know strangers. I've driven both and feel at home in the Gen I.
regardless, a VIPER is a VIPER. to me, the VIPER I remember as a teenager is the red RT/10 with sidepipes, but that doesn't mean...
some people think some of us bought GenI's because that's all that we could afford, but some of us bought them because that's what we always wanted. I could have bought any VIPER, but I truely love the GenI. its crude and rough and not for everyone.
I have my opinions about what looks better...
check out my gallery, I have a ton, the 355/25-19 is a smaller diameter tire than the 345/30-19
here's some pics of the 345/30-19 on my car:
and here's a photo of it next to the stock wheel/tire:
I think the larger overall diameter balances the car and looks more inline with the front...
regardless of what's faster a VIPER is:
- red
- with sidepipes
- gets wet inside when it rains
- has no electronics systems between the driver and the road (ABS, stability control, etc.)
might want to think about replacing both rears, its not a great idea to replace just one tire on a high performance car, issues like difference in age and tread depth might make the car handle differently. if you just drive it easy every sunday, nevermind.
anyone that assumes a high horsepower car gets poor gas mileage is not paying attention, simple as that. short of reading what Tom wrote, I can offer some good aerospace and mechanical engineering books to educate your friends.
I get this question all the time and I love asking people if they...
