thanks for the info Tom. I know you've helped me with this chronic problem in the past.
I found a good sized power steering cooler that will be delivered tomorrow. I found a nice location to mount it and even made an air dam to help it out a little. I'm taking pictures and will post the...
upon further inspection I DO NOT have a power steering cooler, as I stated earlier. both the high pressure and return lines run directly from the rack to the pump.
hmm, I haven't had the fascia off my car, but when I changed the pump the rack return line goes straight from the rack to the pump (as I recall). also, others have confirmed this. I'll follow the lines when I get home.
are you sure you aren't thinking about an oil cooler? I know I have one of...
not on a GenI there isn't.
my pump sometimes makes noise when I'm driving aggressively for long periods of time (and the car is hot). I've already changed the fluid and the pump, and I want to try a cooler before I replace the rack.
All,
I would like to install a power steering cooler on my '94. I have talked to a few people and have a general idea of what it will take. Looking at the microfiche it appears all I need to do is order the GenII high pressure hose and route it to a cooler. There is a different part number for...
I've heard several times to just use the original champion plugs, can anyone post their experience with these plugs? any thoughts? (my engine is basically stock, btw).
if he means play fore and aft, I don't believe that is normal. neither of the two VIPER diffs I just handled had such play. you may have a little when turning the yoke, but it should be tight fore and aft.
you should get this fixed or regularly top off the fluid. it is not "normal" to have fluid leaking from the diff. there is a seal, as ViperJohn stated, that may have failed or been installed improperly. this is likely the cause.
no thanks on the GenII or III, I couldn't be happier with my real VIPER:
There were 4 GenI's at this Georgia VCA event, 3 red (one is hidden), 1 black (obviously the McViper is a Gen 1.5, so its doesn't count)
that guy was an *******. I've got that from other car guys too. sometimes its fun to be nice to mean people, it seems to bother them.
nice looking Vette, by the way.
some Vette guys wave and smile, and I return the favor. some do what I used to do when I was driving a Vette: stare for a second, then look away and try to pretend the VIPER isn't there...
always check your pressure with the tires "cold" (room temp) before heading out. these tires are too expensive not to maintain them properly and the handling of the car does change when air pressure is not where it should be.
good luck with the alignment, make sure to update us on the...
Mine lays a fairly wide track, I'd check the tire pressure and its worth getting an alignment at a well recommended shop. think about it, $150 to $250 for an alignment could save thousands of miles on $1500 tires, its money in the bank.
that cobra looks alright, but the roll bar is distracting. I do think black is the best looking color on a mustang. something about the shape of the car.
red is fastest, btw.
I just wish someone would clearly document a stereo install, the whole things seems like magic at this point. I've done stereos before, but the stock systems on these cars are very different.
