Very unfortunate, sorry to read this story and see what happened. I never realized Gen2 wheels were cleared--is it common to clear chrome? Anyway, another reminder to use simple solutions and go from there with more aggressive cleaners. I bet your dirty wheels would have cleaned up fine with...
Did my Gen2 about a year ago with the kit from Advance Auto (don't know what refrigerant your Gen1 uses though). Worked fine then , no issues, works fine now. Just watch the suction pressure limit for your ambient temp when charging the system.
Surely the motor can be cross-referenced to a less expensive minivan application or such? I can't believe Dodge would develop a whole new motor just for the Viper.
Good work. Is the Gen 1 top different than Gen 2? The reason I ask is the rear latches on the Gen 2 are a lot more hazardous than the front latches and deserve protection as well.
I haven't made a set, but my Viper came with a 3-piece vinyl clad set. Middle section has a Sneaky Pete logo and the left and right sides connect to the center with velcro. Can send pics if interested.
Envy!! Guess current thinking is you don't have to keep rpm's up off idle for 5 minutes or so after initial startup with a new cam to allow proper bedding.?

No I'm not talking about the LED eyeliners . . . look again c-l-o-s-e-l-y at the tease photo for the halo around each of the projector lenses. Don't lose sleep over it as I'm sure one of the easy denanny mods will include 'halo delete' [something like 'with headlamps on, pull flash-to-pass 3...
Yes they are . . . . and easily removable to pass. The rear is buggered up too as they covered up the backup lamps with a mylar 'Chrysler' sticker. Guess they figured you don't need them.
