The Michelin Pilot Sport Cup is a compromise tire - not sure many folks are running them at Viper Days. the Michelin SLICK - however - is about as sticky as they come - WAY moreso than the Hoosier.
Understand that a slick will degrade fairly quickly after a few heat cycles - and that...
Excellent race program - great friends and a series taht is producing very talented and respoected drivers in Speed GT.
I hope that we see some SRT street cars converted into race cars (perhaps that wreck that's on eBay?) and folks can start taking advantage of the SRT contingency program...
The wag remains on the Comp Coupe.
Unless you are doing some bonzai manuevers - the tail doesn't swing around - but it is unsettling.
Chuck is right about some alignment adjustments will help this. I also suspect that the rear toe brackets from Snake Oyl would help keep the toe stable during...
I know, I know. Just messing with you. I only take the tire temps - never really paid much attention to how they "fit".
Maybe Brian from Michelin will have some good news for us.
And thanks for the mental speedo image.
Agree with Herr William. The brakes inspire more confidence to dive deep in the corners or at least to go faster before them - I aoften found myslef coasting because I knew I had to brake..... But I also found the car to be overall MUCH more planted in the butt end. Easier to put the power...
Hotel at track - VIR this weekend - rooms available
A couple of rooms at the track hotel are opening up - please post here or PM me if you would prefer to stay there,
Re: My Battery is dead ! What to buy? Are Optimas worth it? and do they fit
If you are not tracking your car and sloshing the battery around - then the stock or a Die Hard will work just fine. The Optima is a bit better for hard g forces and helps reduce the spilling / corrosion that tends to...
Re: VIR IN JULY! WHO\'S GOING???
A bunch of us are staying in the "hospitality suites" that are truly trackside overlooking the front straight. Complete with garages!!!!
Should be some fun nights - cookouts, golf cart races, etc.
GREAT EVENT - All should come out and join in - even if you...
Re: DC Please build a street version or anyone please build a kit for me!!!
Isn't that a photoshopped Comp Coupe with the side fascia pieces blended in? (It also has a roll bar, and front mounted cutoff switch, etc.)
Can wait to see some actual pics...... You will have your order books FULL.
We're running the VRL Hooisers - so I am sure they ar enot recommending that for them- they may for the RS06, etc. Not familiar with those tires.
We're running about 1.4-1.8 neg front and about .7 to 1.1 neg front - depending on whether it's a right hand turn course or a left. I don't think...
You're killin' me. My tire failure was in my VOLKSWAGEN - and yes, you were so gracious to offer to let me drive your car, but you understand how I don't feel comfortable doing that.
The problem with unhorsing Henry for Putnam is that he wouldn't end up with any "spare" events for the VRP...
I like having a lid. But that's just me.
Anyone know what the rollover protection is in the coupe? I'd like to see the cutaway / body and frame diagram from the repair manual. Hopefully they went back to the stout roll hoop design like in the Gen I/II cars in the coupe.
