Hardcore ACR = Orange
Has emblems. Only identified weight savings are no hood pad, no truck carpeting, stereo delete, speaker delete, and carbon fiber covers for fuel tank access, battery and holes left by absence of above audio equip.
Was sitting on the line when BK occurred and has a 4/15...
good Lord - I LOVE the 97 blue and white striped RT/10. How I'd love one of those, another 1996 GTS and a 1998 GT2 for my Gen II collection....
It is a rare car - take good care of it.
Hope it works out - side sills are NOT cheap - and it's not easy finding someone that is good with working...
As for the wiggle - it's likely just the car settling into the grooves in the road. You likely can't see it - but with the wide tires, it will tramline a little and hunt for the groove in the road.
Enjoy - and I'll cross my fingers for some unseasonably warm temps in your neck of the woods to...
Glad you and your baby are ok. Great group we have here.
Now - would you PLEASE post this over where folks think that the website is the main part of membership????
I am proud to count all three of the VCA folks you mentioned as my friends and I second your thought on "this is what it's all...
Agree on the water thing - if you ship a Gen 1 RT with a softtop - across the country on an open trailer - you're asking to replicate the scene out of Risky Business.
Personally - I'd be embarrassed to put stanchions around my Viper. I would also think that it would attract the kind of negative attention that you don't want - instead of being accommodating and allowing access - folks would likely think you are a jerk who brings their car out for others to...
ok - how's this for ya - my new ACR has a build date of 4/15/2009 and I couldn't get it until 9/11/2009 FACTORY PICKUP! And I can guarantee that is was not DONE on 4/15/2009.....
Viper model years, build sequence (and I use that term loosely) are not like any other car. Period.
Re: What do you call the plastic square in front of the front tires, inner fender wel
Heck - why not add staples and duct tape for good measure?
Just kidding - both seem like good / clean appearing options to make sure you don't lose another one.
Perhaps this is the best way for me to explain how I look at the Viper.
I used to ride horses.
You had your basic 2 type - rock solid unflappable mounts that would carry you safely over fences, through fireworks, over the river, etc. You could show them and win some ribbons. We called them...
I believe Jay bought an RT during the transformation of his original car. So - at least for a while - he had 2.
It would be cool to see pics of the car that Ed Coombs was working on for Jay completed.
I'm with Boxer - we were looking at the ACR this past weekend trying to figure out how to take more weight OUT....
$14K is quite a few "tire units" for track days.....
Here's an old Detroit Free Press article about Ralph that always cracks me up.
FROM SLACKER TO SUPERSTAR: Gilles is new darling of automotive design world:
Ralph Gilles is the design director of the hot-selling Chrysler 300. He displays a drawing of a prototype.
In 1988, Ralph Gilles...
veeten- great story.
I will say that many Viper owners are getting younger. In the late 60's - I was a toddler.
I grew up when engines were smaller and we were waiting in line for gas.... 8 cylinders were a thing of the past - we had a Citation that I learned to drive in - grandparents had...
Agree on the "pictures worth a thousand words".
Heck - I think I still have the pic of the 2003/2004 that was flipped over by a Ddoge staffer in front of the SRT Engineering center.
Where do we start - wreckedexotics.com?
Or - would anyone here care to contribute pics / stories?
I envision a...
In light of recent events and some terrible tragedies involving new owners of the Dodge Viper - the members of the VCA Forums wish to provide the following insight into the Viper ownership experience - all in hopes of preventing accidents.
Much of the Viper's appeal is it's "raw" attitude. It...
So - how do we prevent these tragedies from occurring?
It's one thing to utilize the COOL program wherein Dodge gives new car buys a free year in the VCA - but let's face it - because of the privacy laws - it's too slow to help the first timers.
There's a hang tag that comes with the ACR that...
