ok - how's this for ya - my new ACR has a build date of 4/15/2009 and I couldn't get it until 9/11/2009 FACTORY PICKUP! And I can guarantee that is was not DONE on 4/15/2009.....

Viper model years, build sequence (and I use that term loosely) are not like any other car. Period.

I have a 1997 GTS and the MDH is 12/12/12. Back then the Viper was still changed over on the calender year..not in Aug .
The MDH sticker is on the driver door jamb. ( month/day/hour)
I would assume that if they were getting ready to change over to the 1998 models in Dec. I probably have the very last 1997..or very close to it :lmao: couple more days and mine would have been a 1998;)

Thanks for your response without attitude.:).lol You know I would say your car is a very late 97 due to those numbers. And with that info it would seem that the 1997 was built through DEC 97. Hey Crazy just make sure you know Not EVERYONE cares when their cars was made.lol Appreciate the info.

Sometimes it's just people being people, and things that are written to be amusing that get taken out of context. Like any other circle of friends, after a while you get used to everyone's personality and you just roll with it.

IM sure your correct Martin. Still they know Im new on here.I dont know them. I think some of their responses were a little rediculous to say the least. Words are words. You can be polite or be a **** in the way you write them to people. Everyone can see what I wrote.I think I was polite and was not trying to stir up anything. Anyhow. Crazy told me about all I needed to know whith his response. Thanks Martin

YEs I ask over there and it was much worse. MAybe its a Viper owners thing.lol At least over here the language is more grown up.Viper Alley is history with me. Anyhow I did get an answer and it was not a smart ass answer. Thanks Crazy.

I think everyone here got a little frustrated because your question was answered several times, but you didn't seem to believe it. Being an internet forum, the establishment of credibility here is hard, but when someone whose avatar reads "Site Sponsor since 1998" answers your question, you can probably trust that it's true. The horse is dead already; don't insist on beating it further and people won't make fun of you.

My suggestion:

Grab a cold one, take a step back, put on your most objective hat and read this tread slowly from top to bottom. Before you read each post, look to the left and notice three things about each poster.

1) Title (Viper Club Member, Viper Owner, Site Sponsor etc)
2) Join date
3) Post count

If you can't figure out what went wrong once you've done that, you might want to get a teenager to help you formulate your next question-response thread. I promise it'll go smoother that way.

As a side note: double posting (posting twice before anyone responds) will get you banned on most forums around the net. It's like going into your grandmother's house and farting on her couch. You just don't do it and expect to be respected.

Just another reason why we need a "sarcasm" font... You'll learn more about people's posts and their humor/delivery the more you read throughout the site.

Since my original answer was not good enough, I will simply go back to bashing yellow Viper owners as there is not nearly enough of that in this thread. :D

Anyone know when the first yellow Viper rolled off the assembly line? Who cares? We all know it was behind a red one!!! :lmao:

Is this microphone on???

Thats your opinion. I could care less how long anyone has been on any forum or how many post they have had. It does not give them the right to be rude. Banned? Are you kidding. My life does not depend on a forum. Now YOU WOlf are proving my point by what YOU have wrote.lol!! Its simple. I was polite SOME of the responses were just plan asses. IM sorry because you have 2000 post gives you no right to bash or talk down to anyone. You talk about teenagers. That sort of thing I would expect out of a teenager. I do agree this has gone far enough. I will think more than twice before I ask any question on this forum.

Red Devil, slow it down a bit. You came here seeking a value for your car based on what you thought was an unusual build date. The EXPERTS here have given you the information. Your car does NOT have an unusual ending build date. Asked and answered. I suspect you did not know you were really talking to experts and that's why you argued with them.
Here's the deal, they are experts and they gave you the answer, it's over.

My build was 11/97. You are not the last but old enough to need to check your intake manfold gaskets. Mine had the newer ones but I think a 7/97 will have the older style prone to leaking.

I think I mentioned this several years ago but I will repeat it since I thought it was interesting; when the 50 2006 VCA coupes were delivered at Barrett/Jackson I checked about 10 there to see if there was any relation between the vin no. and the number on the console [1-50], there was no relation whatsoever. I had previously assumed that car 001 would have built first and 050 last; maybe someone knows how the console numbers are assigned as i have no idea.

Maybe JonB will know the correct answer for this, but I've always assumed they use the "reach in a box and pull out a number" method to decide which car gets which number plate. In other words, completely random. This of course does not apply to the 1998 GTS\R's which did go down the line 1-100.

I guess I can understand why people say strange things but they still cant answer my question.lol

Your question has been answered completely. At least twice. [Your capacity to understand the answer is clearly in doubt.]

What part of "You were built right after July 4 break, and CAAP began builds thru 12/12/97" dont you understand?

I could add more facts, if someone can translate for you: Some of the cars begun in Dec 1997 were not completed til 1998!

Another fact: Yes, those 'carryover' cars are still 1997 cars !!!

Another fact: You have yet to answer -if- you have Blue or Red... {neither?} Maybe a rare 1997 one-only color.....?

Oh I forgot: lol

[That = 1 lol for 7000+ posts for me.......and 86 lol in 64 posts for you. You definitley have the lol expertise down-pat. ]

I could tell you, but would anyone believe me?! Fact is, NHL is 90% correct, with a few planned exceptions. And this "formula" applied to most of the "Special Edition" cars.

The lady who did the assignments also printed virtually every Viper Monroni from 1992-2006....at MACK and CAAP. if she was on vacation, the Monroni did NOT print! Lula (dont call her Lulu) is now Dodge-retired and owns her own school uniform biz..... Boy did SHE have some memorabilia and stories!

I'd believe you Jon! Unlike some people (or one person) I really enjoy when you share interesting little-known Viper factoids. If you have something to share I want to hear it. And thank you for everything you have shared to this point.
