Actually, it's my wife that really wants the car (and me too, just a little:)), but she wants to make it HER daily driver. What a conundrum (not really).
That would be a little disappointing. I know of someone (me) that has owned 3 NEW Vipers, wants a new one, but no longer owns one so therefore not a VCA member. I really believe in the Bible (in this case) and think I should be welcomed back like the Prodigal Son and placed ahead of all VCA...
Coloviper, I can understand your point. I'd want all the bells and whistles too, and $145K is pretty darn steep. Don't know if I would ever be happy with the "base" model -- need to wait until all the specs, etc., come out to decide though.
This will probably get roundly trashed, but how about something more inclusive --- an SRTOI (or some such name)?
Since it appears Dodge is dumping the Viper and the associated monetary support, why not broaden the scope to include all SRT vehicles (which, of course, includes non-SRT Vipers)...
Seems like good advice. If it were me, I would report it to the police, go to the absolute best place you can reasonably arrange to paint it, then forget about it. Trying to extract revenge only brings you to their level.
I tried the 3M adhesive stuff many times and it still is very hard to get the adhesive off. They should name it "3M Adhesive Sort-Of Remover." I have no suggestions, although some have said use brake cleaner, although the can I have says not to get on paint. I'll have to give that Paint Prep...
I made my own. I put a spring I had laying around on a dowel mounted to a piece of plywood. Adjusted the dowel height with the aid of a small weight scale so that when the dowel touched the belt, you have 10 lbs. force. Then measure the belt deflection at that time. Use it on my Harley drive...
We met Thomas (ViperLss) on a CAAP tour some years back. He was one of our main points of contact for the tour. I'm sure he wouldn't remember us, but we sure do remember him. I will never forget his enthusiasm and kindness. He was "on fire" for the Viper, and you could tell he really loved...
If you get the 06, you will probably always wonder about the 08, and nagging doubt could ruin your enjoyment of the 06. Been there and done that. I would get the 08.
So true about the removal problems after several years. What happens is the glue separates from the plastic and stays on the paint, and is extremely hard (close to impossible) to remove, even using 3M adhesive remover. It took me hours to remove a couple square feet of glue, and I been through...
BobK, look at your owners manual for the trailer front wind loading. It is the maximum front surface area of the trailer that your Jeep can tow. It might exceed that. I was thinking about towing a camper with my Jeep (06), and it exceeded it by many SF. Got a truck instead.
I think we should also start spelling the guy from the hot place as the D-v-l. That way, when some of us visit him later, we will have showed him the proper respect, and may receive better lodging.
The above statement just caught my eye --- It's been my experience in my profession that the person preparing the statement of work should not bid on the work, because it can (probably does) give them an unfair advantage in the proposal. I don't know if this is true in the internet world. If...
