    The Viper Store

I thought the only people who still wrote checks were the 80 year old women I get stuck in line behind at the grocery store. ;)

    VOI 12 is selling out

Well, it looks like I jinxed myself. I didn't screw up this time and hurt anything, but the trans decided to eat itself going down the back straight and destroy 4th, input, counter shaft and some syncros. See "need a new transmission" in the general viper section. Depending on cost (and it...

    Time for a new transmission...

Dammit Bob! You had me hoping you found the Holy Grail of inexpensive trans rebuilds. Lol Yeah, the input and counter shafts are the expensive parts. Plus we're still trying to figure out exactly what the hell is in my car. All the manuals show that the T56 should have a 2 piece counter...

Does anyone here Hill Climb their car ???

I tried hill climbing once in the Viper. The ruts, rocks and trees made it too hard with the low ground clearance the Viper has. The H2 does much better. Oh never mind... ;)

    Time for a new transmission...

I'm beginning to think it IS a T56 and not a TR6060. Thought it was a 6060 because of a 1 piece countershaft instead of a 2 piece, but talked to Tremec today and the Viper T56 (by the Gen III cars anyway) used a 1 piece. The 56's look to be a good bit cheaper to rebuild.

    Time for a new transmission...

I'll admit that I don't know much about the internals of the transmisison, but from what Brian said, the main input shaft is what 4th gear is, which interacts with the other gears. As you can see in the video, I was in 3rd when it blew, but my 3rd gear is perfectly fine. I busted 4th, which is...

    Time for a new transmission...

Thanks Bob. I know Brian said the main, high cost items I need are the input shaft, countershaft and 2 syncro's. The other stuff is little items. Unfortunately, the TR60 has some parts that can only be bought as "sets" as Treesnake said. For the T56, you can buy most of the pieces...

    Time for a new transmission...

You mean there's supposed to be fluid in the transmission? ;)

    Time for a new transmission...

Bob, sent you a PM about this. Brian said it's a TR6060 in my car now that he has it apart. Maybe a previous owner upgraded it. I assume they work on these also and hopefully about the same price?

Well, this isn't what I hoped to find!

    Time for a new transmission...

Half-shafts and rear end are fine. 100% in the transmission somewhere. Now it's just a matter what went and what it destroyed when it went.

    Time for a new transmission...

Correct, I'm running the stock T56.

    Time for a new transmission...

Thanks for the heads-up on Southern Gear. I'm running the car up to Brian in Knoxville today to take a look at it. Are you saying they will completely rebuild (geara and all internals for $800? I assume that's you pulling the tranny and taking just the tranny to them? Still seems like a good...

    Time for a new transmission...

That's the only place on the track I go to 2nd. I used to stay in 3rd there, but found I get through quicker in 2nd. Agree I would like to take it quick enough in 3rd, but not there yet. I use 4th on the 3 straights, but the rest of the track is run in 3rd. I'm not making huge power, so...

    Time for a new transmission...

Well, made it through this weekend without any contact with anything. Unfortunately, I didn't make it through without any incidents. I ran all day Saturday and on the first run this morning, I got a few laps in before the transmission let go. I came out of 7 onto the back straight and right...

anyone know how to remove the tail lights and headlights?

There are 3 "rubber like" nuts for each tail light. If you got all 3, the light should be able to be "jiggled" and come out very easily. The back-up lights are a different story. The little clips on them are a pain. For the headlights, there are 3 nuts for each of them as well, but they're...

    NT05 vs Supersports?

Damn! I can't believe they let go that bad after such a short time. Do you mean they just got slower, or they became almost "worthless"? I've run 4 track days at Road Atlanta on the Invo's and while they're not very fast on the track, they pretty much stayed consistenly bad and didn't go...

    NT05 vs Supersports?

Allan, I see what you're saying on the size thing, but if you look at the actual measurements between the 345 Invo and the 335 NT05, they are almost identical. VNM, How fast are we talking about wearing out (mileage wise). I will see mostly cruising miles with some pretty hard moutain runs...

    Road Atlanta 8/26-8/26. Who's in?

Disappointed there's no one else going this weekend. I know a lot of guys came to NARRA, and saw a few at NASA also, but nobody seems to come to Chin. As much as I loved NARRA and their operation, the track time and generally smaller groups makes the driving even better than NARRA and MILES...

    NT05 vs Supersports?

I know I've asked this before, but it was when the SS's first came out. Now that they've been out for a while, has anybody tried them that has also tried the NT05's? I'm thinking of possibly ditching the Invo's and I'm curious. VPA has the full set of NT05's for just over $1100, so it's...

    VOI 12 is selling out

So what's the deadline to sign up? The registration form says it must be received prior to Aug 1, but then also mentions Sept 10. Obviously I'm past the Aug 1 date now. I'm planning on going and my plan is to sign up next week. I'm waiting because I'm headed back to the track this weekend...

Need some power steering help aaasssaaappp!!!!!!!

Just got back from a long drive and pushing the car a good bit. NO LEAKS!!! :) And it looks like God helped me with the forecast as well. Partly cloudy with only 20% chance of rain and a high in the mid 80's on Sat and Sun now.
