Mine stay on battery tenders all winter! After the first year without one I had to replace a 2 year old battery! Battery tenders for me now over the winter for no issues come spring.:D
You can drive yourself nuts trying to find the perfect viper, unless you are shopping to put it in a museum, you are always going to find issues with any 10 year old used car.
If the Viper tech did not see any damage underneath and the body and paint work has been done properly. Buy it. Drive...
The most obvious thing for me is the Gen II is a coupe , the gen III is a convertible, so if it is top down weather I prefer the Gen III, but overall the Gen II is more comfortable to drive which I attribute more to the tires BF goodrich on the Gen II. The Gen III has the run craps which have a...
Bought first one on Ebay, 2nd on Autotrader.
Either option comes with the cavaet of buyer beware.
My first experience on Ebay, the seller was less than truthful, so lesson learned! (It had a plugged cat.....)
The second one being out of State/Country a local VCA member was very helpful in...
The last time I checked none of the parts you say need replacing are related to "issues trying to shift". You don't say how many miles are on the car, but I know I had to replace the front wheel bearings in mine with only 11,000 miles and I never hit any rubber on the road, I would be inclined...
Not sure if it works or not on Possum, but I get mice in my garage, I was told to put fabric softeners (the kind you put in the dryer) in the car and under the hood over the winter. I did not have any problems last winter......:eater:
Personally it would not bother me. If you buy a car with issues, you should pay a lower price, and when you sell expect the resale value to also reflect that.
Again personally I have never bought a vehicle expecting to sell it for a profit, or even to break even, although in hindsight if I had...
There at least 10 of us heading to Niagara Falls Sat (the 25th) for a cruise and BBQ organized by one of our members, meeting in Burlington 9:30 AM, might not be to late to join in.....
Unfortunately if it was a professional job it is probably already in a container headed to Russia, or it has already been parted out.:omg:
We don't see a lot on the road up here so posting the colour and/or any unique accessories might help. Might help to monitor E-bay for Viper parts coming...
Thankyou very much Arthur, now I know (probably more than I needed).
For me when the thingamajig isn't talking to the watchamacallit I will call the dealer.:dunno:
That detailed answer was much appreciated though.
Thankyou
I attended one 3 years ago at the Virginia Int'l Raceway they had 2 Vipers there that professional drivers took you twice around the track, but you were chosen by a lottery system, I was lucky enough to be chosen. :D
The driver had me up to 160 mph on the straight, there was still room left...
Here are a couple of pics of our night at the track, (not that kind of a track), but there was lots of horsepower there:can1:
Always a good time when we can get a group together:D
Sounds like my car when I first bought it, turned out to be a plugged cat, a good mechanic with the proper tools can pull an oxygen sensor and look inside the cat. Good luck!
