disconnect the battery loosen the TB sensor and turn it clockwise it won't move much but, it does change the voltage and lowers the idle. it may only move a 1/16th of an inch and then retighten it. reconnect the battery.
I can't imagine a warranty issue with the steering. Has nothing to do with a tune. I found most dealers want the work anyway and won't say a thing about anything. Hard times for a lot of dealerships.
Once you have it off the car it's becomes pretty simple to take out the shaft. Make sure the battery is disconnected and be careful removing the sensors. The instructions are pretty good the pictures are poor. I had no hang problems with the TB.
I had purchased the RT cats and Corsa. All I noticed is it was way loud. NOT any faster. As a matter of fact I thought it felt like it lost power. I lost the cats kept the Corsa. Now I can hear in the car. It seems to run better with some back pressure. IMO
Glad to see this all worked out. A lot of effort was put into this product and I beleive that the straight up after market vendors add to the value and fun of owning a Viper.
Nader I will look around for that info. I think your right on with the dyno thoughts.
YLW Probably the easiest of installs I can do a TB change in about 15 minutes. Actually the hardest part was disconnecting the battery. Seriously its pretty easy. I cannot post the name of the guy who did the...
Hey Nadar, Like I said earlier my dyno showed less power but, with all said I am not sure the dyno run was accurate in comparrision to the time I ran the stock TB. I like the XMetal and that is what I have been running and it seems fine. As for idle hang it hangs just a bit but, not any big deal...
I am studying a plan to make all my gauges, odometer and tachometer digital. Plx gauges seems the way to go with the conversion. My question is how linked is the Gen 3 computer to these gauges? I wouldn't think the oil pressure and water temp are but, not sure. Any insight into this would be...
Twister that pretty much says it all. Like I said in order to really know you should have all three run on a dyno on the same day. It only takes about 15 minutes to change them. I never did it like that but, that is the only way to know for sure. (almost for sure anyway)
Let me chime in on this because I have used both the BBK and the X-Metal. The BBK is a poorly constructed unit. Lots of problems idle issues and just not machined well with the butterflies rubbing the sides. The XMetal which is currently on my 04 works great. I have not had any throttle hang...
My only proof is my improved drag times a tenth and 3/4 mph faster. I understand all the variables on the track but, there alos on a dyno. I do plan on going down to see Dan Cragin for a dyno tune next month. So I will share the results when its done.
Of course wait and see. I didn't want you to think that I was trying to spam anyone. Just love the power my new headers and ported manifold gave me. Sorry if I offended.
I ran yesterday at Infineon. It was a foggy morning and it didn't clear for racing untill 10 am. I ran my first run as always just to loosen up the car some and ran an easy 11.8. I was happy, usually my first run is aroung 12.0 The next time I raced I ran 11.7 and my mph was up to 122.5 mph my...
