    Jim- In short....no. There is so much torque available EVERYWHERE (at least 700 ft/lbs from 2500-5500 rpms with peaks above 830 ft/lbs) that a gear will do nothing more than spin the tires all the time. I have 3.07s in mine and it just hooks up in 3rd gear. We can certainly do gears in your car...

    Just checked my stock of Corsas, and the 3" systems are 113lb., including the boxes they come in. Your 2.5" system would obviously weigh less, but I'm not sure by how much. (We use the 3" systems exclusively.)

    Lingering power steering problem

    If it is the fan, you may also try making some slight modifications to the airbox for better clearance. A little heat and some pressing is all you need to get the extra clearance. Best of all....it's free. This has worked great on the fluidyne's we have installed lately on our customers' Vipers...
