so any acceleration gained do to increased h.p. would be lost,so the only advantage is sound.unless the added weight over the rears increases traction?
Just checked my stock of Corsas, and the 3" systems are 113lb., including the boxes they come in. Your 2.5" system would obviously weigh less, but I'm not sure by how much. (We use the 3" systems exclusively.)
put the corsa on this weekend.
corsa cat-back=66 lb.s
factory cat-back= 52 lb.s
14 lb.s diff. for the 2 1/2 inch.
corsa said it maybe adds 10 hp,i hope this makes up for the extra weight.don't think the sound is much improved though, kinda sounds like a 6-****** w/ glass-packs.
I have 3" sidepipes with Race Bullet mufflers, the weight is about 8 lbs each...and the sound is!!!
The weight excludes Belanger Headers.

Actually, going to side pipes would probably give the best of both worlds (lighter and 3")
What cats are you using? I have the 2.5 Corsa on my '98 GTS with Sean Roe's Oval High-Flow Cats, and it screams!!! From my experimentation, I've found cats play a major role in the sound produced.
