I would like to hear from current S/C (in their SRT-10) owners and which rear axle they are running and what went into their decision-making.
There are essentially three popular rear axel options with an S/C SRT-10
a. 3.07 factory
b. 3.55
c. 3.73
Three opinions are often disputed...
Ron:
I suppose we would have to say $8-10k dependent upon section of the country. In California (at least as mentioned above) the price may be closer to the 9-10k range. Here in the South, it is simply a Coon Dog puppy, the wheels off your house plus your social security disability check...
Tony:
Thanks, and I do understand what you are saying. Also, thanks for the link.
Mike:
Polishing is a matter of preference. I personally prefer the look of the S/C polished and that may certainly make selling it separately a bit easier.
Crockett:
Yes, I do have the Corsa...
Crockett:
I was never certain that you had gotten yours back. I gather the photo of the polished unit that you posted is yours? (nice).
So your bottomline was less than 8k installed, polished and tuned. What are the dyno numbers?
At that price, you can pull it at sale time, easily sell the...
Crockett:
Exactly! You understand.
If you find a private buyer, and you the seller has what he wants, S/C or not, then the deal can be completed. You can elect to recover your funds by removing and selling parts indepedent of the car. The latter is what I do.
Dealers apparently have found...
The information was imparted by this site's top Viper salesman. He may, or may not, care to comment.
To wit, the ROI on aftermarket items is .10 on the dollar.
Regardless, this is the picking of nits and not the core of the initial post; the installed price.

Ron:
The return of investment on aftermarket parts is 10%. Verify this with your favorite online Viper salesman. He will confirm.
I said that the polished is irresistable regardless of how little sense (cents) it makes.
Yes, there is a market for most things...for everything else, there is...
Combining all data from drivers to dealers, it appears that the following is the summary:
a. Look at ~10k for a quality install, tune and tweaking
b. Polishing is a waste of money but just too cool to resist
c. Unless you remove and resell, you are looking at a substantial financial loss
d...
We appear to be on the same page.
If aftermarket parts provide a 10% ROI (90% loss), a figure frequently quoted to me, then the S/C route also communicates something about your car which would limit your market.
Now with a Ltd. production Gen I/II that may be just as valid since as those...
Mike:
Good to see you too, but I am not back, just touching base occasionally with a question.
Crockett:
It is incredibly looking in polished form (sorry Mike...but it looks very good, but I see your point).
Frank:
Yes, I was thinking that the $9k mark was the going price, installed and...
Thanks Art,
That is the price, and it is what he does. He comes to town just to do that. Have not committed to the purchase as yet. Was simply wondering what others had paid.
Alice
At one point, I was offered an installed Paxton S/C for $7k (unpolished) and wondered what prices others have paid over the past 12 months for unit, installation and tune in an SRT-10. Thanks.
Tom:
Thanks, the Archie Bunker post was fun to write and the responses were truly hilarious.
However, the facts are being misreported:
1. The thread was started as a brief (10 lines) humor
2. This is the important part:
a. It was immediately derailed by some kid
b. He then...

Or maybe it was just a MySQL error.
Your choice, Morpheus.

The Run Flat Tires
While these tires save the space/expense of a jack and spare tire/wheel, they are less than ideal and even more problematic when cold. Heading out in the morning requires even greater caution and control.
Re: TAOD\'s version of the Copperhead.
I saw a C6 Corvette in a color to Dodge's Neon Orange. It was not a pretty sight.
There are certain colors that do not go with certain concepts. This may be one of them.
But...since there will only be 200 or so, there should be enough who like them...
