Be interested t know if TA sales are mostly previous Gen owners. Viper needs fresh blood to be exited about the platform. The loyalists won't keep it afloat as history has shown. I like the TA but I also have a Gen 2.
I would much rather have 350 demo miles and a full warranty starting from when i pick it up than to be the second registered owner of the car. Good deal, good for you!
Yeah, good clean no bs cars are not easy to come by at all. The dip in the market will actually help those who hang on. As the cars values sank my guess is a lot of people who thought mothballing would make them money decided to cut their losses. Lets face it a 45k ACR is a no brainer to...
I think the worrying part is that per the OP's observations it appears someone along the chain knew the car was having an issue but decided to move along with the transaction without rectifying the situation first. I think SRT should have a lot of questions for the selling dealer as it reflects...
Life is too short for an automatic transmission.
I am currently contemplating getting rid of my 06 RC SRT10 for a SRT Cherokee and the auto is whats holding me back.
Yeah, those are just signs to catch a lucky one (sucker). Walk up with your checkbook and ask to speak to the GM, bypass the salesman and watch what you get it for if you are prepared to write the check right there.
I am willing to bet dollars to donuts that there are many dealerships who are sitting on multiple Vipers that would be willing to make a fair deal below MSRP for a serious, no nonsense buyer. I know if I were in the market for one I would be doing just that.
If I had an open order for a car...
MV, if one wanted a track car but had no need for radio or a/c can it be ordered as such (I assume the dash may be an issue from a production standpoint)? Can you share the total weight of the base stereo and air conditioning components combined?
Sounds a bit far fetched but I guess you never know. Without proper documentation of the story it will always raise questions at time of sale. Unless its a steal I would say look for one without such a story, thats just my opinion.
Re: Confused Newbie deciding between 2001 GTS ACR and 1996 GTS ...Man this is tough!!
I too have been extremely lucky with my picks in cars but I think it has way more to do with luck than anything else. One thing I always did was to buy a car that I liked - not the one some guy in a book told...
I have felt that about the door itself. I love the The Gen II Fuel door. Every time I fill up I admire it. I want one for my desk its so cool! On the other side I always wished the gen II had side pipes..oh well.
If anyone is in the market for an 06 RC Mineral Gray shoot me a PM. it has about 10k miles or so. There were a few changes on the 06's namely the interior.
Maybe they should have brought this car to market as something other than a Viper and all would be well in the world. Its a worthy competitor among supercars.
There is no denying that this car (whether it be due to overall changes in the automotive landscape) does not fit entirely into the DNA...
I can't imagine the viper losing. I assume they (SRT) already had this test many times while building the Viper, it would only make sense to anticipate this comparison out of the gate.
Ha that 458 ride is an awesome vid!! Its weird how its much scarier a ride like that is as a passenger when you have no control.
The Ferrari sound is ridiculous.
