I wonder how well the plastic intake holds up under boost? I have a question for those with a G4, does the G4 have the same local coil-pack set up as the G5 and if so, are there engine covers similar to the G5. Does anyone have a good picture of a G4 engine.
What is interesting is the fact that many/many of these critics have a low number of posts and all of sudden they come alive to double their post numbers by criticizimg the G5.
Sort of a moot point, but, there was another thread where a G4 owner had a positive post about liking his G4, RedSLed...
Let me continue;
1. Lighter due to carbon fiber in the roof, hood and rear deck. Plus aluminum door panel.
2. Lower cg.
3. Improved trans and trans ratio.
4. Brake cooling ducts.
5. World class paint/finish.
6. Shorter stopping distance.
7. Stiffer frame/chassis - better turn-in.

I am fortunate to have an excellent tire/wheel shop. IMHO I woulld always use a shop with a Hunter dynamic road force balancer. This allows them to match the tire to the wheel. I just had new hoosiers mounted on new factory wheels and neither was perfect.
Have you noticed that most of the vette reviews offer a comment about major handling deficencies of the C6 are corrected in the C7. However, when the C6 was reviewed in the past, the car was perfect.
A good friend bought a C7/Z51. With dry sump and mag ride control he paid $70k.
Doubtful, unless they practice magic.
[BahQUOTE=kristopherbush;3221702]is the 40 or 80k upgrade? does the new computer keep all functionality ie. cruise control, launch control, and stability control?
Before you pull the battery, test the battery with a load type tester. I would also disconect the battery and apply the charger lead directly to the battery. This will guarantee you do not have a wiring issue. A high resistance connection could have the same symptoms as a bad battery.
SRTViper always starts off with I love the viper before following up with an ignorant unfounded comment. The Ohio vca has a list of cars available from our sponsors, the average cost is south of 115k. A SRT with track-pack costs approx 101k, that should be the basis for cost comparisons.
Just to add a little more - contrary to belief, excess fuel in the exhaust does not always show up as a rich mixture. A bad plug or injector can cause excess fuel in the exhaust, however, it could show up as lean, O2 sensors measure the remaining oxygen and do not care about liquid fuel in the...
A bottle heater controlled by a pressure transducer works extremely well. I had a bottle heater with both 12V and 120V coils. I could keep the bottle warm at the track and not kill the battery.
On an NA car you can actually add quite a bit of timing. If you make that your base tune, then, remove some timing for the NOS you are back to a OEM timing curve. My point is you do not have to change the OEM timing for NOS, it is already conservative.
I am at the point that I no longer enjoy this forum. It is like a disfunctional always angry family. I have owned a G1, G2 and now a G5. I love them all, but, the G5 is so superior when compared to the past cars.
Most of these naysayers have never driven a G5. In addtion most have never...
Bob:
no disrespect, but, your posts usually have great content (I enjoy them), but, they are so hard to follow due to the fact they are one paragraph no matter how long they are. I probably should not be casting stones, my sentence structure usually sucks.
The comment on fires pertains to all cats. If you run over-rich you can catch the cat on fire. I believe the Roe SC ran rich on 8 and 10, loading the cats and causing the problem. This is why it is necessary to use something like a VEC to modify the injector pulse to the offending cylinders...
I am with you, I do not run cats and get no cabin fumes. Whether the car has cats or not does not change the fact that the engine has to get rid of the combustion by-products.
If you spray in the intake tubes, any backfire will be outside the intake manifold. One small trick is to mount the NOS sprayer to the front of the fuel sprayer, this atomizes the fuel far better. When you install the plumbing, the cardinal rule is to never increase the cross-sectional area as...
