The SC increases blow-by past the rings. What you have is common, but not good. It is typically signs of a tired engine or a specific problem. I hope you are lucky and it gets no worse.
Tom
Was your ESC light on during the first pull. Secondly, when I dyno'ed, the operator told me not to turn ESC off because that would set a code - that made no sense, but, qualified it by saying that was his experience with cars that had ESC?
You have come up with a good question, how...
Re: Reached the tipping point: the stock 2013 exhaust interior dB level is unacceptab
This is a 2013 viper with the Corsa exhaust at the dragstrip. This was the first run, the car had the CEL from removing the air cleaner. In addition, I had the shift light set at 6100, that caused me to hit...
They do not have an affect on the a/f. However, a bad rear O2 could make the cat look bad. The 97's typically do not set a code even if they show a bad cat.
We need to know the defintive reason the car is failing the test?
The longer bolt is the recall bolt, the shorter bolt was the oem bolt from pre-recall. The corvette poly bushing has a .505 inside diameter, that is why the the 4-1/2 X 1/2" Gen 2 head bolt works so well. The Gen 2 head bolt is very close to the length of the bolt from the recall. Again, I do...
I did a post several years ago about how bad the pinion arm bushings are on the Gen 2. At that time I replaced them with poly bushings, but, did not document the process. I just changed out another rear end and have the info for this change.
THE PROBLEM
1. What can this extremely loose bushing...
Re: Reached the tipping point: the stock 2013 exhaust interior dB level is unacceptab
This is the OEM muffler/ The yellow rule is a yardstick.

Re: Reached the tipping point: the stock 2013 exhaust interior dB level is unacceptab
The fundamental resonant point is in the 2000-2400 range. Resonance can look like a sharp isosceles triangle (narrow/high multiplecation) or is can be a flat isosceles triangle (low multiplication) with a...
Re: Reached the tipping point: the stock 2013 exhaust interior dB level is unacceptab
I do not think there is much difference in the drone, if, if there is, the improvement is minor. IMO the car sounds much better. I also think it may be a bit louder than it was immediately after the install. I...
Re: Reached the tipping point: the stock 2013 exhaust interior dB level is unacceptab
I have the Corsa's on my car. I weighed the OEM mufflers today and just as Corsa said the OEM mufflers are 20 lbs each. I do not know what the G4 side sill looks like, however, the G5 2-1/2" exhaust and...
I am not sure what you will find, but, in general chrome plating embrittles aluminum. As proof I believe the FAA restricts its use on aluminum parts. If chromed, I would guess you should not track the car, especially G1 wheels.
Keep in mind, the design changed after they tried rhe same system on my car. I would guess the two mufflers weigh at least 50 lbs. The muffler fills the entire sill.
I have some GoPro WOT video/audio. I will post next week.
It could be the tire and not the size. The fronts may be to soft/sticky, at some point they start to get greasy when exposed to the track. On the other hand they seem to far better than a 5000 mile tire when driven on the streets. They grip like mad on the street and they are a good rain tire.It...
I have not been back out to the strip. I will get back to the strip this year, weather permitting. We have had a lot of rain and/or extremely humid weather.
Dan:
The Gen 3 pump that you supplied and that I put into the the Gen 2 bottle works great. I can run the tank almost down to empty and the bottle does not go dry. The car is about 575 rwhp and the Gen 3 pump works fine. I still have the BAP installed, however, I have it turned off.
This is...
What is the process for tinting:
1. Is the tint permanent?
2. Can the tint get into the paint or interior?
3. What is the approximate cost?
4. Is it a custom shop or a glass shop that does the tinting.
5. Are there any real negatives?
Sorry for all the questions, but, this is something...
I was weighing the options also. My first autox event pushed me to the 315. IMHO you can push the G5 so hard the tires can become an issue. That relatively small front tire gets worked harder than the rears. I think you could ruin the oem fronts in less than 25 fast autox laps.
